2002-03-21 Thread Gary Stone

Can you read previous posts?

And does anyone know when the Ducie Island online logs
will be updated beyond the 'initial' posting?

Re: [DX-NEWS] QSL information

2002-03-21 Thread Bob McCourt KI4RU

WOW!!! I couldn't agree more Dave. I've been using Pathfinder since it's
Birth. Hi hi. I've been one of the lucky one's that Dave asked me to
test it out and I couldn't be the help that I give without it. It's
small, easy to use, can access from the web anywhere and it's F R E E!!!
I use the one that you install and can make the search lookup you choose
12 different online CB plus the great site DX Summit for '2000, '01
'02, it's really Kewl folk's. :-))

Or use Pathfinder -- http://www.qsl.net/pathfinder/WebClient/ -- and get
1-button search of the RW1QM site mentioned below as well as QRZ,
Buckmaster, K4UTE, Google, DXS, Octavia, and more than 100 online
callbooks. One enters a callsign exactly once to search any of these
sites with a single mouse click; Pathfinder determines the callsign's
DXCC entity and provides access to its online callbook if one is
 available.

There's also a version of Pathfinder that you can download and install
on your PC; this has all of the above capabilities, lets you control the
assignment of searches to buttons, provides access to an additional 30
or so web-accessible sources of QSL information, and searchs the Flying
Horse Radio Amateurs Callbook with a single click. Its free, and
 available via www.qsl.net/dxlab .

The following URL was posted in past on this and other email reflectors:

 http://www.ampr.spb.ru/multi/index.html

I have used this and it's predecessor for quite a while and recommend it
to anyone needing a very complete and useful source for QSL information.
With one call sign entry, it provides mutliple QSL database lookups and
presents the results. It includes QRZ.com, Buckmaster, DB0SDX, CLUSTER,
and ON6DP database searches, and also uses the call as a key word for
a search and lists multiple entries where this call has been mentioned
in bulletins, etc. I hope you use it and share my enthusiasm.

[DX-NEWS] Ducie Logs?? Are There Any ??

2002-03-21 Thread James Nipper

What is the real story on uploading of the Ducie Logs
?? I am getting conflicting
information. Some folks claim they are "in the log" as
confirmed by the Log Website, but I know for a fact of at least 6 hams that have
worked them who are NOT in the log (from the standpoint of the
website).Second question-- why isn't there anything said
about this in the official updates ?? When were logs
last uploaded, what is the approx freq of updating the logs, etc etc
??I am not being critical. I think these guys are doing great,
and all support hams are doing great. I just think meny folks are working
them more than they would if they could confirm once and for all that they are
in the log. Soo, I think that the group and the
support folks could do themselves and all the rest of us an even better service
if this could be clarified and published. No flames please... I
think these folks are working hard for us, and putting on a good
operation.73 de Jim

[DX-NEWS] Old W6GO lists

2002-03-21 Thread Charlie Summers

I am looking for someone who retained the old W6GO lists. I need to look up
the QSL route for 8P9AP from a August 1991 QSO. Can anyone help?

Thanks and 73,

Charlie, W0YG..

PS Am impressed in the improvement of the lady operator on CW on the WARC
bands at VP6DI. She started real tentatively but you can feel her gain
confidence. I think she will do OK. The rest of the guys seem to be
holding their own too and they are ticking off the QSOs. Overall it seems
as if they are making themselves available and whittling down the pileups.

JE2EHP (JA pilot for VP6DI) said at 07:42Z on March-21:

At the present time, only first about 400 QSOs on 21SSB by Kan JA1BK
is put on line LOG.

As they said for the first time, the official LOG would be on AFTER
THE DX-PEDITION.
