d-u-s is installed. Otherwise things I tried work with and without dbus-
user-session.
I am unclear on the symptoms in the rest of your description. I never
recall seeing global menus for terminal app.

Theory is that the phone suspends before the alarm sound can be played.
In that case pushing the power button or waking on the 5 min poll timer
will then sound the alarm. However we do request that repowerd keeps the
system awake when we issue the alarm or notification. We wait for the
