I recently upgraded from release 7 to 8. I participated in the Florida QSO
Party last weekend and added the QSOs from ADIF. I set the Contest Mode |
Notes to Add field to FQP and loaded the records. Today I received a QSL
and noticed that the FQP is appearing in the Notes for this Call, not
I just upgraded from 7.04 and can't get any action from PF3 at all. I've gone
back through the mailing list entries all the way back to the announcement of
version 8, but can't find a similar post. The online QRZ works OK when I press
ENTER.
For many years and versions I have used a batch
I have CW QSOs dating as far back as 1952. I always have to use a special
filter and a separate run for CW, merge the results in a separate Excel
file, sort, etc. or manually remove any QSOs that are picked up
automatically by DXW. Very clumsy. It may be that this DXW inadequacy has
been around
the
difference is more easily discernible.
If not to be part of an update/upgrade does anyone know how to do this?

I have JA1NUT in the QSL Manager field, but I have a note which says,
Q=F2YS/W2 Checking the card is was stamped by Jacques. Use F2YS.

Help:
I might as well get on the band-wagon. Someone pointed out that it should
not be so difficult to provide the mode for a contact. I do a lot of mobile
work and log on a voice recorder, which I manually log into DXW every few
days. I REALLY would like to be able to use a C for CW, P for PSK31,

I do not have everything set up right now, but when I did I ended up using a
cable directly from a serial port to my rig, not through the RigBlaster Pro
- this worked for me, but needed an extra serial port. The ports going to
the RigBlaster Pro were SER A for PTT/CW and SER B for MixW, MMTTY

Help. I've read and re-read the User's Guide and I've diddled all the
parameters I could to get two QSOs (with same station) on one QSL label.
I've also searched the Archives without success. Can anyone tell me how to

All,
I am helping a new DX4WIN user install, configure, and connect the CI-V
interface between his radio and his computer. He purchased the www.cqpal.com

David, the starting date is OK, but the mappings for the new St. Barts do
not include any calls with the TO prefix. Best thing to do is edit those
contacts, change the prefix field to FJ and hit PF10 to save it. Jim will
include your observation in the next country file update.

For those who need to start DX4WIN with administrative privileges every
time, since they are using the parallel port under Vista, there is a
permanent fix:
Locate the DX4WIN.EXE program file in the root of the DX4W7xx directory and
right click on it. Click on Properties and the Compatibility
Re my last post, I find that the QSO entry mode follows the last spot mode,
even though I am not connected. Only if I clear all spots do I get the
default mode.

I've just installed it, from 7.03, and find the following problems:
1. The QSO Mode does not default to that set in Preferences. It comes
up as CW, not SSB.
2. QSO Modes are not sorted.
3. DX4WIN.MAS is not found, no matter where I put it. Error, File not
found, no

Jim, I like your tongue-in-cheek query!
Really, everyone has slightly different ways of preparing to QSL. Some do
it right away, some infrequently, some use a service, others use a
combination of ARRL Outgoing service and direct. I am of the latter, and I
don't QSL very frequently. When I
Hmmm, maybe It's been too long since I QSLed, but I have a few questions.
Maybe someone knows the answers:
1. I wanted to only print those labels which meet the selection of
Confirmed=Y and Label=Y. When I tried to print labels, it would not take
the selection - it wanted to print all of
Hamad, my QRZ always shows the countries. It is the newest, Summer 2006 and
it is stored on disk. The DLL hasn't been changed since 2003. When I
searched on QRZ32.DLL, I found many versions, and most were out-of-date.
I have copied the newest one from QRZ to all the libraries.

I haven't seen much light on this problem. Let me guess what is going on:
Obviously, seen from previous posts, DX4WIN checks the operating system
identifier during installation to determine which CW driver to use or what
library to put it in.
Sorry, please ignore my previous post - I missed the entries for 6/8 and 6/9
which pinpointed the problem and the solution of recompiling the driver with
an x64 capable compiler.

Can anybody direct me to the above? I need to change some ADIF tags to get
State, and RCVD to be filled in. Where can I find the DX4WIN tag names?

It seems to me that I had that problem once, and it was because I had it
sorted in some fashion, not by the default, Arrival. Take a look at that.

Dear Roger,
At some point (DX4WIN Ver 6.04?) FGREP stopped working. I searched around
and came up with a more modern search program. Here is the bat file I call
QSL.CMD (in DX4W604\EXTDATA) that is called by F3 in DX4WIN:
ECHO OFF; Don't print this
