Hello All:
With the help of Jim AD1C, Paul VE7BZ, Lou N2TU and John ZL1ALZ, the
problem was solved. FYI, here is what I did and the settings I used.
To start, note that I have an FT-2000(PEP); it was a great experience
downloading the PEP software and the radio worked splendidly without any
Hi John:
Tried that with various combinations of settings on the Radio page. Did not
work. I can send CW okay, but I do not get the radio info. I get an error
message saying that Radio timed out, Radio interface has been disabled.
Am beginning to wonder if the FT-2000 will work with my 7.02
Hi Jim,
Before giving up, try 7.07. I'm pretty sure Paul made some fixes since
the version you are using (which is several years old). Also check
http://dx4win.ad1c.us/ look for the RIG/RADIO section, there might be a
new .RIG file.

Did you check the baud rate? Merging the .INI file settings does
*NOT* copy the ICOM baud rate correctly.

There are still several major issues with it.
DX4WIN knows about the issues they are working on them.

I installed Windows Vista RC1 (build 5600) today.
I can not get DX4WIN to run without complaining about the vichw11
driver. Then DX4WIN exits immediately.
Vista protection doesn't allow files to be copied into the
windows\system32\drivers directory.
Anyone have any ideas?

I am pleased to say I think Paul has cracked it with the new LoTW import
routine in 7.02 build 15.
Be careful with your selection of Options for Duplicate QSOs I find
the last one comes up with the results I like.
One little challenge and I can see the logic why Paul had done it this
way, so
the band
radio 2 is on, but if I click on a spot I do get an error that the port
is in use by something else. When I bring up V7.01 it works just fine.
Setup:
Win XP Pro
Port in question COM3 via a USB-Serial converter
DX4WIN 7.02 Build 14
Ram 512MB
Processor AMD Athlon 3000
Radio 1 FT-1000MP
Typo error my callsign is G8DQZ NOT G9DQZ!!

7.02 can not read the 7.01 DX4WIN.CFG file. You must export your preferences
to an .INI file for this version, then import them into 7.02.
Check your station and award band

Well I'm disappointed!
The problem of the DX spots taking control of the entry window with NO
rig control has NOT been fixed.
Further more I have come up with a problem
Ok got it running fine except when on the telnet announcements it
gives everything on the page except the call of the station that has
been called out band and mode are correct and change but the
station call is blank 7.01 this was not the case
I exported and imported from LoTW with no problems.
