Just replied to Bob privately.
After a long search for my power supply for my XP laptop I can confirm what
Bob is seeing.
It may be related to the fact that I disabled the skinning of menus.
Fortunately for
Bob and other XP users, all seems to work if no Skin is selected.

I'm not using Windows XP but I'm curious: Do you see the same thing if
you use the keypad - or + keys to adjust the speed? (To be honest, I
didn't even know about Alt-F9 & Alt-F10, I've always just used the - and +).
One comment I'll throw out to anyone still running Windows XP: As I'm

Moreover also the CW Keyboard windows does not update, sowhen you change speed
with Alt-F9 or Alt-F10 CW speedactually changes but you are not aware, since
the caption doesnot reflect the change. You need to click on the QSO windowto
