Re: [Dx4win] Comments in logbook?
I might be missing your pointbut there aere already two fields in the QSO window for each QSO made. Notes for this QSO and Notes for this Call (if I remember correctly, I don't have the program loaded on this computer). So are you talking about some other kind of comments? I use them frequently. When I work someone with the same radio as me, I'll put a comment in the QSO in one of those fields. When I get a new radio, I add comments like "first 6 meter contact on new FT991A"or "he's using same microphone as me"and on and on, etc, etc. So are you talking about something different? Because there are already TWO comment fields as the software already is. So I'm a bit confused what you are asking foris it something different K4TK Tim Moore PMP On Fri, Jun 19, 2020 at 3:26 PM Tom Doligalski via DX4WIN < dx4win@mailman.qth.net> wrote: > Years ago, in the dark ages before we had electronics logs, it was very > convenient to write a comment in the logbook. [Dx4win] Create VUCC Map from DX4WIN Award Listing
Hi Folks, I started to work on this utility again after several years. This can be used anywhere in the world, not just USA. You can see an example of the current output here: http://dx4win.ad1c.us/VUCC/ad1c_2020-06-18.pdf The coloring is slightly different than before: - Black means Checked (credit given by ARRL) - Green means Confirmed (but not yet submitted) - Red means worked but *not* confirmed You may also notice a blue outline. I just added this option yesterday. It is for the Fred Fish Memorial Award from ARRL (FFMA): https://www.arrl.org/ffma I like to keep a printed copy near my operating position. For me, it works better than using F8 all the time. There is one problem that I need help with. As you can imagine, color works *great* if you have a color printer, but what happens if you only have a monochrome (black/white) printer? I printed the color result on a monochrome printer we also have in the house. The problem was that both the red (not confirmed) and green (confirmed) squares appear to be the same color (sort of a light black or dark gray). My proposal is for users who need to print the map on a monochrome printer, that I will use RED only for unconfirmed grids. Grids that are either confirmed or checked will show up in the same black color. This is to make it easier to identify grids you may need to re-work. Presumably, grids that are already confirmed are of "no interest". If you have any opinions, let me know. I've put up a beta version of the current release. You can download it from here: http://dx4win.ad1c.us/VUCC/VUCC_v3.1_20200620.exe http://dx4win.ad1c.us/VUCC/ - documentation etc. You may need to download/install this Microsoft library as well (the x86 link). https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads -- Jim Reisert AD1C, , http://www.ad1c.us __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] File Issues
See if this helps: I found this in an E-mail from 10 years ago. This option doesn't seem to be available on DX4WIN 9.0x but may/should work on 8.0x: Kostas Stamatis 10 years ago if yes, your packet window is somewhere outside your screen. You must play with "Leave all windows in original position" in screen tab (uncheck, save, check, etc. until you see the packet window). 73 Kostas sv1dpi -- Jim Reisert AD1C, , http://www.ad1c.us __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
[Dx4win] File Issues
I am trying to fix a ver 8 DX4WIN installation for a friend. It was working fine for years but he tried to do an upload using TQSL and sent the wrong file to TQSL (maybe his log file but I am not sure). Now when he starts DX4WIN only the narrow window at the top opens up with all others closed or off the screen and when he tries to open his log file using the file>open command from the top line it returns ("windows cannot open this type of file"). He is running Win7. All help greatly appreciated.
