[Dx4win] HamCall with DX4WIN 6.03
Greetings, I have just received the latest HamCall CD from Buckmaster and have been trying, in vain, to link it with DX4WIN 6.03. The data has been copied to the hard drive and in the EXTDATA section of the preferences I have entered the correct folder where the data base is loaded but it still will not link to the database. The 1996 version of HamCall worked well. Buckmaster have run out of ideas and I was wondering if anyone on this reflector could prevent me from pulling all my hair out. One of the DXCC Summary reports shows 17 countries Worked but not Mailed on 10 meter CW, but it appears the only way to locate them is to search for all 10CW QSOs. Any suggestions on how to search or report to find these easily? I'm not sure why I can't select 10m and CW on the Needed Listing, but that seems like the logical answer. 73, Byron

[Dx4win] merging files?
Have done this OK for IOTA logs; I think you use the standard log format in TR, which is a binary file (the menu in DX4WIN suggests it is a .BIN file; but I think it is actually the .LOG file). Have done this for 3 years worth of MD4K logs from IOTA: Open the log you want to import the TR file into. In FILE menu, chose Import/Export In Import/Export dialog box, scroll down to N6TR; select appropriate file you wish to import, highlight it. In this window, select FILE, IMPORT. Navigate to the TR file, then press OPEN. Should then import ok 73 Dave G3NKC -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Peter Solly Sent: 07 November 2004 01:02 To: Dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Dx4win] merging files? [Dx4win] HamCall with DX4WIN 6.03
Tony, I recently had a similar problem. I had 6.02 on a laptop and a desktop and was using the QRZ database, which I had copied to my hard drives. Everything worked FB on the desktop, but I kept getting a QRZ32.dll file not found error. I tried everything known to man to get it to work on the laptop, but without success. I then considered reinstalling DX4WIN 6.02 on the laptop, but decided to just upgrade it to 6.03. After the installation, everything worked flawlessly. Paul had advised me that he knew of no problems that would be corrected by a reinstallation, but it did indeed work. I vaguely remember one other incident where I had to reinstall in order to cure a problem. Try reinstalling DX4WIN. 73 es GL de Joe Liz Tony Buckland wrote: Greetings, I have just received the latest HamCall CD from Buckmaster and have been trying, in vain, to link it with DX4WIN 6.03. In-Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message-ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hi Peter, I used to have Trlog as my contest logging program but is now using Writelog. Anyhow, this is how you get your Trlog contacts into DX4WIN. You have to convert the Trlog format of the log to ADIF format. I don't remember if you can do that within the Trlog but try to go to Post contest section of Trlog and check it out. If that doesn't work you can download a separate ADIF converter and I believe you can find a link on the Trlog website. If you can't find it there do a search with Google or any other search engine and search for ADIF converter. If that doesn't work either contact me directly as I believe I still have the ADIF converter in my PC. Good luck! 73 Bert, VE3OBU [EMAIL PROTECTED] -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Peter Solly Sent: Saturday, November 06, 2004 8:02 PM To: Dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Dx4win] merging files? Guess I can get rid of CW keying if necessary, but is anyone using DX4WIN with a Rigblaster for both CW and RTTY? Or is there some other way to interface something like MMTTY with DX4WIN? 73, Joe KQ3F
[Dx4win] Using Rigblaster for CW/RTTY
Hi Joe, Adding multiple serial ports should solve the problem. Sounds like a port conflict - you can't run CW and RTTY at the same time on the same port. Once a port is captured, some programs won't let it go, so when you try to run another program that uses the same port, it will show up as a conflict. I added an additional 8 ports (overkill) on my PC years ago, and assign different ports to different functions - RTTY, rig, CW, rotator, etc. I use MTTY with DX4WIN using the Rigblaster Plus - no problems - as well as all the other sound card programs. 73, Joe WD?M At 12:16 PM 11/7/2004, Joe Stepansky wrote: I've been through the manual and can't figure this out. [Dx4win] Using Rigblaster for CW/RTTY
Like Joe said, you have to use two ports. Run the second one to the RigBlasterPro B interface. If you define the second port with MMTTY (or MixW), you can use FSK, if your rig supports it. BTW, you must use a real port, not a USB derived one (with only one known exception), for successful FSK.
