Re: [Dx4win] Packet window formatting
Just a suggestion Steve. As you have to re-arrange windows to take advantage of the new bandmap. If screen real-estate is tight you can minimize the packet window after you connect since all the useful data appears in the Spot or Announcement window. That's what I do here. n...@aol.com wrote: I cannot find anything in the help file, so would appreciate knowing how to change the display format within the packet window. For several versions now, I've had my DX4W windows arranged and sized the same. WIth v8, the display of incoming spots (telnet) in the packet window now is causing a line-wrap for every spot because of spacing/formatting. Yes, I realize I can resize the window to have the entire spot fit on one line. But, this is a change to something somewhere in the new version. I've played with the settings on the Packet 2 tab in preferences to no avail - and I think those are for incoming formats anyway. I just need to shrink/delete all the white-space that seems to be there with the new version. Re: [Dx4win] Packet window formatting
As one might expect, this was cockpit error. On version 7, I had part of the world map window covering the scroll bars on the packet window, so thinking the packet window in version 8 was the same size was wrong. Everything works in v8 as it was in v7. Sorry for the bandwidth, and thanks especially to Jim for coming in where my brain cells no longer tread In a message dated 8/16/2009 7:09:16 A.M. Re: [Dx4win] SWL labels seems not working in 8.01
Yes, indeed, SWL records are missing in 801 and are not recorded and can't be printed thus. Hopefully this will be one of the first bugs to fix. 73 Tonno Es5tv -Original Message- From: dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of Alain, F 5 L I W Sent: Tuesday, August 11, 2009 10:25 AM To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Dx4win] SWL labels seems not working in 8.01 Hi to all, I want to add a SWL report (Ctrl + F2) and print a label but not report is saved and, of course, not label is printed. I clear all SWL labels and try again : same result. If I add the same SWL report without clearing SWL labels I get the message An SWL exists already do you ant to remove it?. If I answer YES on NO the result is the same : none report is saved and no label is printed. Re: [Dx4win] SWL labels seems not working in 8.01
Tonno, Thanks for reporting this; it is fixed for the next release. The SWLs are recorded. When printing, the SWL, the list looked empty because there was a bug testing for the group number. --Paul, KK4HD Tonno Vahk wrote: Yes, indeed, SWL records are missing in 801 and are not recorded and can't be printed thus. Re: [Dx4win] Question on direct writing to log
The design of DX4WIN has not changed in this area. You can avoid sudden shutdowns by buying a battery-powered UPS. In 12 years, I have not lost a single QSO due to power (only operator error). 73 - Jim AD1C On Sun, Aug 16, 2009 at 8:31 PM, Glen and Pam Kesselringkesselr...@awsllc.net wrote: I have been away from DX4WIN for awhile. My version is 7.03. The reason I left was some reoccurring problems of lost contacts due to power outages...i.e., sudden shut down. It was my understanding that the only way contacts could be logged was by a buffered write to disk. Has this changed? Is there any method of setting preferences for direct write to hard drive? My move to Logger32 has been successful regarding this issue but DX4WIN has better label print features.
