[Dx4win] Installing DX4W702 on Laptop with win7

2010-02-24 Thread Don
I am trying to install DX4W702 on a new laptop with windows 7. I keep
getting the message to copy the driver vichw11.sys to
c:/windows\system32\drivers. I installed win4702 as administrator in the
c:\dx4w702 directory. I still cannot get it going. Any suggestions would be
appreciated.

Re: [Dx4win] Questions re:Spots and Group Names

2010-02-24 Thread Eric Rosenberg
I want to see the entire list of group names. I assign an operating
event (contest) a different group number, and would like to see the
entire list!

Cut and Paste doesn't seem to work.

 1. You can narrow the column to almost nothing by grabbing the base
of the header separator with your mouse.

 2. I'm not sure I understand... if you men a list of group names I
could only suggest cut and paste. If you mean a group of QSOs defined
by a group, use a filter and export in any format you wish.

 1. The latest version of DX4Win has a member column in the packet
listing. How can I get rid of it?

 2. Is there a way of downloading or capturing the entire QSO group
 list? .

Re: [Dx4win] Questions re:Spots and Group Names

2010-02-24 Thread Alan Sewell N5NA
I was just playing around with this for a few minutes. It's a round
about way of getting there but see if this will work.

1, Under the File menu select DatabasesReports
2. Click the New button.
3. Name it Group Names (or whatever)
4. From the Available Fields select Group and Groupname
5. For the Sort Index select Group
6. Click OK. You should now have a report format called Group Names
7. Now go to Preferences
8. Click the Rep/Lab tab
9. For the Default Report Format select the report format you just
created, Group Names
10. Save your Preferences
11. Now go to the Window menu and select Logbook. It will show the
Group and Groupname for each QSO, sorted by Group.
12. Right click on the report and select Write to File. That will
create a CSV file.
13. Open the CSV file with Excel.
14. Do a search in Excel help for delete duplicate rows. Follow
those instructions.

You should end up with a list of your Groups and Groupnames. It's not
as hard as all those steps makes it sound. If you have more QSO's than
the number of rows Excel will handle you may have to split the CSV file
with a text editor such as EditPad.

Here's a response from Paul on the same issue from 2006:

And a whole list of search results for vichw11.sys from the archives:
