And if it was not for Jim (AD1C) the accuracy would not be there either.

Just an FYI from earlier discussion: I use DXLabs at the club station and we
send in our LoTW uploads in bulk but just two clicks to send (one to add
requested QSOs, one to send). Then downloads are one click to download log
match (that QSOs are matched in both places) and one more to update
confirmations. Last click can be done whenever you want to check for more
confirmations. I also think every QSO uploaded real time is a waste of LoTW
computer resources but they are so fast normally now that is not really an
issue.

Dx4win should be able to offer these 2 things. Of course switchable auto or

many new hams. I explain that the most important thing in a logging program is

every call. Dx4win does perfect these 2 things.
I am a CQ checker in my country. You can not believe how many mistakes other
programs have in zones. But all the new hams are interesting for
ft8 and other digi and they don't like the way dx4win handles this. Also they
want to be able easily upload to lotw and clublog. In combination that they
need to pay for dx4win (not a few $) the most of them go away.
This is not good for most of us even we are ok with dx4win...

It would probably require more information to pin point what it could be.
You'd need to show your config for the packet.are the clusters you're
trying active (my favorite one goes down sometimes. And sometimes, my first
3 or 4 choices are down...but I keep trying to I get one that does work).
So what is your packet configuration?

Re: [Dx4win] Fwd: DX QSL not counted

2020-04-06 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
Something else must be going on.

I did an experiment. I had worked and confirmed ZE5JJ as a Novice, in
December 1974, on 15m CW. I deleted all of the other Z2 QSOs from my
log (37 of them), so the only one left is that 15m CW QSO from
December 1974. I did a DXCC Report and selected a Band listing. Sure
enough, I have Z2 confirmed on 15 meters.

The only differences between yours and mine, that I can see are a)
DXCC entity, b) Band.

I don't think it's the CW cutoff date.

Re: [Dx4win] Fwd: DX QSL not counted

2020-04-06 Thread WA7AA
If you remove the start date for an award, then all QSOs will count for
it, regardless of the QSO date. This will make a QSO in DX4Win "valid"
and it should be reflected in all reports, totals, flags, etc.

If that's not what you are looking for, then I am probably not quite
understanding your original post correctly.

WA7AA

That sounds more like a work-around rather than a fix.

The current problem is just an incorrect needed list for 160M and
your suggestion would probably fix that. But then my CW DXCC totals
would be incorrect in the summary?

Unless your suggestion ONLY corrects a band need list calculation and
effects nothing else?

[Dx4win] Fwd: DX QSL not counted

2020-04-06 Thread Richard King
I have a QSL card for the Falkland Island on 160M CW dated January 26,
1974. It was submitted to the ARRL years ago and counted as a 160M QSO. It
also shows up on my LoTW rewards screen as confirmed because my DXCC and
LoTW accounts were merged when I first went to LoTW.

My problem is that DX4WIN (Ver 9.09) will not give me credit for the
confirmation. When I display my needed list, it says that I have worked the
Falkland Islands on DIGITAL and SSB but have no confirmations for either of
those modes. I also says I have no CW QSOs on 160M. I have never bothered
to confirm the additional 160M QSOs with VP8 since I already have that
band/country confirmed with the ARRL on LoTW.

I know what is happening here. The DX4WIN software is getting tangled up
with the silly ARRL DXCC CW rules that only allows QSOs after January 1,
1975 to count for CW. All CW QSOs before that will ONLY count for MIXED
mode. The ARRL continues to maintain this rule to protect folks who are
high on the CW Honor roll that have influence with the ARRL as directors
and officers. All other DXCC awards have done away with date restrictions.

I like for LoTW and my DX4WIN totals to agree on all modes and bands. But I
can see they will never agree unless the DX4WIN software is fixed to take
into account the CW DXCC restrictions.

Bruce, count the number of mouse clicks your procedure needs, even

newly confirmed QSOs into your log.
The program by N2AMG called L32LogSync requires 2 (two) clicks to do
ALL this (this program works with Logger32 and DXLab, at least).
If this program works with 2 logging programs, it should work with 3,
obviously requiring changes in DX4Win architecture. Are these changes
a 2 year-job or a few hours, I do not know, I am a full ignorant in
computering.

And again, this could be optional if this was to be implemented some day.

As for logging WSJT/JTDX QSO directly into DX4Win, I see no reason why
to object to such improvement.

So my question to the developpers remain : what are they working on,
if they are working on anything ?

Re: [Dx4win] Auto Upload to LOTW, etc.

2020-04-06 Thread Paul F6EXV

Hi Joe
My suggestion was that these potential developments would be optional,
not necessarily fully automatic.

Just one long time users opinion,

As flakey as LOTW has been recently I for one do not want my QSOs being
uploaded automatically/individually.

Would I like to see WSJT -> DX4WIN automation sometime in the future? Sure
but it's not a huge deal for me. A couple copy/pastes and a few mouse clicks
and all is good.
