I was hoping someone would volunteer to do that!

I think there is plenty of juicy content for historic DX retrospectives.
Yes, please scan away my friend.

I recently had the same problem. Try again but follow the upgrade
instructions to the letter. Very finicky.

[Dx4win] "This logfile requires a later version (P)"

2020-02-03 Thread Bob Farkaly
Looking for some help on a DX4WIN 9.03.1160 error. I tried to open a log
file I have used successfully until now. I tried to open my log file
(K9RHY.DXL) and (surprisingly) received the following error message:
"This logfile requires a later version (P)". Is there a workaround or
solution to this? I've searched the reflector archives, the
documentation and the internet without success, Also emailed DX4WIN
support but received no response. Any help appreciated.

Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN and the iPhone

2009-10-04 Thread Bob Farkaly
The VE7CC application has an email alert function that works just
fine. I use that function to send an email to the SMS interface for my
cell phone. For example, I use an iPhone with ATT as my service
provider. My email setup in VE7CC is set to:

myce...@txt.att.net

Every time a DX station I am looking for (on the band/mode I need) I
get a SMS message alerting me. This technique has helped me work a
whole bunch of new IOTA counters.

One caution. The Europeans send a LOT of spots for the same DX station.

all the cluster spots would be like rubbing salt in to the wound.

It would be a cool application, though !

Subject: [Dx4win] DX4WIN and the iPhone

I use DX4WIN at home. I'd love to figure out a way to notify myself
of a DX spot that I need. I'm sure I could figure out how to build
 an
iPhone app (or send an SMS message to my iPhone) when a needed spot
shows up, but how do I get the comparison information. Clearly the
 DX
spots window knows when a spot arrives for a country you need, but
 how
can I pipe that information out to another program (automatically,
without manual intervention) so another program can forward it on to
 my iPhone?

There are so many cool applications on the iPhone and so few for
amateur radio. It would sure be nice to see more for ham radio.
Ultimately, I'd love to be able to remotely control my station
 through
the iPhone AND be notified of important spots when not at home as
well. Anything out there I don't know about?

[Dx4win] Kenwood Radio Control

2004-08-19 Thread Bob Farkaly
I'm new to the reflector so apologies in advance for the bandwidth.

Using DX4WIN 6.03 with a Kenwood TS-950S. DX4WIN has a hard time sending
commands to the radio. TRX-Manager does fine as does sending commands
manually through HyperTerminal. I installed a COM port analyzer to watch
the data being sent and received. The data from DX4WIN looks the same as
the data sent by Hyper term, except the result at the Kenwood is
non-existent.

Has anyone else run into a problem like this? I want the program to
control the radio so I can QSY to a spot. I've been using the Radio
Database for tests, but can't see anything wrong using the port
analyzer. There may be a timing problem, but the analyzer I'm using
would need to be upgraded to see that.

Any help would be appreciated.
