I have not tested this but I believe that dx4win changes the mode to what you have in file>preferences>QSO>defaults for new QSO. Normally you have mode=cw. Make it ssb and dx4win will import the phone qsos to ssb Be careful. it will changes whatever mode can not recognise to ssb).
