Thanks everyone. It looks like the problem affects CW sent on COM
ports only, not LPT ports.
Paul did increase the number of COM ports in the program from 8 to 32.
There may have been some unintended side effect of this.

The config in the DX4win is DTR line = CW KEYER and RTS LINE = PTT Control
