[Dx4win] Talk Window in 7.02

2007-02-27 Thread Wayne M
Jim,
There is a separate window that opens in DX4WIN when you receive a talk
message. I still have the window open in 7.0.2 but it was initialized
from an older version. I'm not sure how one would get to this now with
the choices in "preferences" as I looked for an option to check and
couldn't find one.

Hi Wayne,

I think we're talking about the same window. It's called, "Talk messages and
announcements." Enable it thew way I describe below.

Yes Jim, I think that's the one. That should give John his Talk Window back.

Thanks for all the extra effort you do.

I'm mostly done updating the DX4WIN award database. My release notes can be
found here:

http://dx4win.ad1c.us/awards.htm

If there are any awards you want fixed/updated or ADDED (even better if you can
send me the award template), I'll include them, otherwise I'll release this
early next week.

Hi John,

There is no separate Talk window. Do you mean the Warning Messages window?

In File -> Preferences -> Packet1, change "Warning Messages" to "List
in Window" and save.

John,

look at http://dx4win.ad1c.us/appnotes/index.htm
scroll down and you see some tips to use the talk-window with your callsign.
While upgrading to 7.02 you forgot the ini file merging from your last
version.

[Dx4win] Talk window popup?

2002-07-07 Thread Herb Rosenberg
Guys:

I am using dx4win 5.03. I use the packet window for my rf connection to
the packet cluster, and the rtty window for packet spots from my
internet connection. Everything there works great, and I get the
"blended" spots from both sides.

But, I would like to "suppress" the talk window from popping up every
time someone from the internet side wants to send a talk message, as
they are annoying from all over the place. It would be nice to just get
the talk window to pop up only when there is a talk message coming from
the packet side (my local rf cluster).

Is there anyway to do this? I bet it is something simple, that I am
missing.

Thanks!

Herb - KG6OK

[Dx4win] Talk window popup?

2002-07-06 Thread Wendell Wyly W5FL
I don't think you are missing anything. Just leave the talk window up there
and the only time you will be anoyed by it is when you are doing something
else and you are automatically returned to DX4WIN. I have not tried
filtering Talk messages in the tnc or cluster, but that might be an option.

I wish there was a way to stop those that don't know how to send a talk
message from posting it instead as a bogus spot!!! Maybe Paul will give us
a filter for 14.000, etc. The next time I want to know that someone got a
P5 qsl card, I would just like to ask them. Maybe someone needs to suggest
that they get a copy of DX4WIN and use the local spot posting capability and
then they and only they will ever see the spot. Guess other software does
not have that built in test capability.
