Re: [Dx4win] WPX window and WAS window
I wondered the same thing... but I looked at a bunch of spots and quite a few on Six particularly had the state abbreviation. I assumed it would use that info... though I would imagine a lot of false positives for OK, IN and perhaps TX ;-) Jim Reisert AD1C wrote: How can DX4WIN determine states from incoming spots, when there is no indication as to the state of the spotted station? Re: [Dx4win] WPX window and WAS window
I do note that VHF operators sometimes put the state in the comments... if that appears DXCC is USA... of course there is the problem of OK, IN, MS (Meteor Scatter) but perhaps better than nothing... can't honestly say it's would be very high on my wish list though... Jim Reisert AD1C wrote: Yes, I correct my message as well. The box does move in 7.07, but DX4WIN can't determine the state. I tried spotting both a previous QSO from my log (so DX4WIN would already know the state), and putting the state in the comments field. In either case, the title bar of the window did not name the state. Perhaps an improvement for some future version would be to cross-check the spotted station against the log, and try to determine the state, county, grid and IOTA, even if those are not in the spot itself. - Jim On Sat, Aug 8, 2009 at 10:39 PM, Paul van der Eijkpvandere...@cox.net wrote: My previous message may have been misleading; the WAS cannot update based on packet info, but should adjust the location of the band/mode selector. --Paul Matt Cassarino wrote: Hello all Does anyone use the WPX window or WAS window ? Re: [Dx4win] WPX window and WAS window
Normally I just display DXCC, Zone and VUCC and they work fine. I checked it here and I confirm what you have noted... WPX and State don't display based on Spot info. Yes, I correct my message as well. The box does move in 7.07, but DX4WIN can't determine the state.
