Re: [Dx4win] Fatal error

2024-01-19 Thread Mike Cizek W0VTT
Hello Luciano,

Look at your EA6AM.~XL file. It is a backup that is automatically created
by dx4win and it will probably have your missing QSOs.

FIRST - save your ex8am.dxl file on a USB drive, or someplace other than the
folder where you keep your log file.
THEN - rename the ea8am.~xl file to ea8am.dxl, open it and see if it has the
missing QSOs. GL.

It turns out that the records I had on the computer throughout the 19th and
the first hour of day 20, that is from 00:01 to 00:48, by mistake I pressed
the wrong key and when closing Dx4win, he did not record them.
My question is the following, is the possibility of recovering them? In some
temporal file, I don't know ...
Or is your recovery impossible?

Dave,

I've had a similar trouble with the country.dat file here. Every couple
of months it does a disappearing act, just to give me something to do. I
keep a backup copy in the main directory just in case.

Luc let me access his system remotely. His fulllist.xml file was
corrupt. This is the file that has the island names for each IOTA
group. The file does not exist anymore, so if you try to update it,
you will get a corrupt file.

The latest version of the Updater (9.5) does not let you select this
file for update (the menu choice is grayed out), but if you use an
older version, you could do this.

This file has not been updated for some time. When the new IOTA World
website was created, they provide the island names in a different
format (JSON, not XML). I do not have time to try to convert the JSON
file back to XML format for DX4WIN 8.0x users. If you are an active
IOTA chaser, you are much better off with DX4WIN 9.0x.

[Dx4win] Fatal error

2020-09-03 Thread Luc
Hi.
I use version 8.05 of DX4WIN.
I know that for version 9 the DX4WIN DATA UPDATER updater is not needed.
I have always used the updater and have never had any problems, but now
with DX4WIN DATA UPDATER Ver 9.5, when I open my DX4WIN 8.05, it gives me
several errors:

- Undefined entity reference 'mdash'
line 3
 404 & mdash, not found

- Access violation at address 0063FE4C in module 'dx4win.exe'
Read address

- A fatal error occured reading the logfile

Any suggestion?

How can I solve this problem?

Regards.

Re: [Dx4win] Fatal Error Opening Logfile in Ver 8.05-03 and 04

2011-03-06 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
Do you still have the W6KY log in 8.01 format? Note that there was a
log format change (conversion) from 8.04 to 8.05, so you can't go
backwards (8.04 and earlier can't open an 8.05 log).

If you have your 8.01 log, using 8.01, export to DX4WIN8 format, then
try creating a new log in 8.05, and import the .DXQ file into that
log. That won't restore your groups, however.

[Dx4win] Fatal Error when Merging DX4WIN logs

2007-06-14 Thread K0CF
Mark,

That is not the correct way to import QSLs from LotW. Do not make a separate
DX4Win Log. Rather, import the ADIF file that you get from LotW directly
into your log, being sure to set the import Options for duplicate QSOs to
Imported QSO Sets Upload Confirmed Flag.

It will work perfectly if done this way.
