I for one would like to join the dev-group but that's
going to take some time, due to the fact that I don't
know much about the internal structure of DynAPI just
yet.

I don't think m$ would like a comprehensive cross-browser API all that much.
Or at least they would not help such an API to exist. Kind of counter
productive.
They've already put in all sorts of nifty functionality that sets IE apart
from other browsers by a mile...
