I am interested in whether there is a literature on variance smoothers.
What I want to do is to plot the variance of a variable as a smooth
function of the values of another variable. It would seem as though
most of the methods for bivariate smoothers should work, but I can't
find any theory on
I would like to call your attention to a session at the Joint Statistics

Dear Sir:
Am preparing a manuscript that won't be ready for publication in less than a

Thanks

I'm staying 'til Friday to attend THAT SESSION.
The discussions should be of interest to secondary teachers in the

I think it is Session 281,
