I would disable video and all codecs except PCMA and PCMU. Those ones

Mutt does not use /etc/gconf/
ly hit yet another ALSA bug.
You can test this :
$ arecord -D plughw:0,0 -c 1 -r 8000 -f S16_LE - | aplay -D plughw:0,0
-c 1 -r 8000 -f S16_LE -
$ arecord -D plughw:0,0 -c 1 -r 16000 -f S16_LE - | aplay -D plughw:0,0
-c 1 -r 16000 -f S16_LE -
You can also use default instead of plughw:0,0 and see
t; system and then choose the PayLoad type?
It depends if you are calling or not.

is no option - way too unstable.
It should be stable enough to allow calls.
What problems did you encounter ?
