Hi All,
A little bit off topic I'm afraid, but I'm looking at utilising the RX
antenna socket on my K2/100..
I wonder if anyone can point me in the direction of a good 80m (or 80/160m)
preamp ?? I've seen the KD9SV web-site but wondered what else was available.
Something in kit form would be
Still using an Ameco PLF-2. Haven't found anything better yet. Some preamps
don't have enough gain for ewes and pennants.
The KD9SV 80/160M preamp looks interesting though. Would like to compare it
to the Ameco.
The Ameco nuvistor preamp worked well too. Some Palomar preamps worked okay
and
Eric,
I only get the digest form of the list. And there are usually several copies of
this d**n
message in the digest !!.
This mornings digest has them at the beginning of the digest.
So they are not coming directly to me from a subscriber but rather through the
list,
It should be possible to
Yes I tried blocking out the Elecraft list with my spam filter and never
received them, so that tells me the spam is coming from the elecraft list.

That is a bit draconian, since you will not get ANY list messages that
way. A filter on the sender's name ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) would work
better. Maybe when Eric gets back, he can sort it out.

Not to mention the easiest way to tell if they are coming through the
list is to read the headers...

I hear you Bob. But I still need a preamp with my K2 on 160 and 80M when
using my receive antennas. I use pennants, ewes and flags, which are very
inefficient, but have decent directivity and help me over my transmit
antennas.

Hi all...
I just updated my homebrew and kits page.
I have some pictures of my KX1 and some other things, and thought some
of you might like to have a look.

Most of the time I couldn't operate in my location without
the NB option. It's the best blanker I've ever used and
FAR superior to the blanker in my IC-765. Of course
the type of noise determines how well the blanker will
work..guess I'm just lucky to have the right kind!
YMMV

FWIW, they appeared here not as attachments but as uuencoded text in the

Listen to the two .wav audio files on the above page before you decide. There
is a marked improvement in copy, especially for the SSB example.

Hello all!
I'm very pleased to announce the formation of the Amateur Radio Covered
Bridge Society or ARCBS. This is an international organization combining
the love of covered bridges and amateur radio. It's a new organization
and we plan to have FUN with amateur radio and also help these
I built the NB option for my K2 #4168 and was convinced for several months
that it was not working. Nothing in my arsenal of test gear is able to check
this particular feature for operation, this being the one item of test
equipment that I have never seen a design published nor have located
Good evening,
The band was quite nice this afternoon. Signals from all over were
strong. Mini pileups were happening now and then and we had fun on 14050
kHz.
The list:
N2YC - John - NY - KX1 - 336
VE1RGB - Gary - NS - K2 - 2519
KC0OSB - Sidney - CO - non Elecraft
K0JEM - Joel - KS - K1
It depends a lot on the type of noise. The NB should help with ignition
noise, but may have little effect on atmospheric, power line or some
other types. I find that the NR in the KDSP2 helps a great deal with
noise here, more so on CW than SSB (but I haven't played much with the
NR settings on
Fourty Meters was a bit noisier than 20 meters this evening but that just
made things a bit more interesting. No relays to help but I think I
picked up most everyone calling. Some were even using marginal antennas.
You may remain nameless if you wish :) I am not sure if running a net is
