Wondering if anyone has a CW filter or perhaps the obf filter kit for
the FT 817 to sell, if not where to buy?
I'd also like to know your opinion on how the 817 performs on CW , I'm
a K2 user normally, :-)
Thanks es 73

I don't think that electrical contact between the covers and the 2-D blocks is
intended to be established by the screw threads...It is established by contact
between the unpainted inner surface of the panel and the bare 2-D block when
the screw is tightened down...If you check one of the black

I finally put an analog meter to the kit... can be seen more easely
outside under sunlight than with only a dim or bright LED... Cute and
nice... ;-)

Very nice--a Tenna-Dipper on sterolids! You have given me incentive
to finally package up my Tenna-Dipper (plus an opportunity to
practice reading en français).

I can vouch for that. They did an excellent job on my FT-817 with the
full OBF/OBP/OPP package and I've got it over here in Iraq right now.
My K2 is 2 kits from the top of the building stack, but one of my
FT-817s lives in my assault pack ready to go. I'll probably be
sending them my other one
Hi All
Just to say Hello, I asked a few days ago if anyone wanted to do a deal with
a ft857/icom 703 for a K2 well,
I had many offers to sell me a K2 so many thanks to all the people that made
the offer.
In the end I bought one from a member of the list and have today had chance
to play with
Congratulations Paul:
My K2 is set for 3.8 amps. I don't recall how close that is to getting an
overcurrent. I have the KPA100 amp on mine so it may not need to run the
low-power section as hot as it might barefoot. I'd not be worried if 4.5
amps does the job for you.
NOTE: It is NOT recommended
Paul,
Congratulations on your K2 purchase.
The AF Gain pot noise first (it is the easiest). If your serial number is
less than 3000, you should see if the alternative AF Gain wiring mod has
been installed - if not, I suggest installing it first. In the process, you
may want to replace the AF
Brett,
Tnx for the comments. Tried the antenna today and successfully
operated simultaneously with both transceivers on the phone
bands. There was some second harmonic noise of the 40 meter
transmitter on 20 when an ICOM 746 Pro was used at 100 watts; none
when a K2 at 10 watts was used.

This radio was built by me and was was upgraded to latest Revision

I have both here in the shack at the present time. I just finished the K2
for a friend. There is no comparison on the receivers for CW work. For that
matter, there is hardly any other radio that can compare to the K2 on CW.
For general all around radio that does HF and VHF/UHF, the 817 is hard to
Good Evening,
My sister asked me just yesterday when I expected snow up here. She
lives in Vancouver, Washington very near the Columbia River approximately
20 miles away as the crow flies. I stated, Late December. Well I was
wrong. We got an inch of snow just this morning. It is still
