Would be interesting!
Beats me why Elecraft can´t present the facts, I´m sure
they have measured since I bet they know how to.

Does anyone have side-by-side test results from old and new DSP boards? Or,
can someone suggest a good test procedure to quantify low frequency
performance improvement? I have one modified and one unmodified K3 and plan
to run some tests.

Question for K3 owners: Do you find that the setting of your LED brightness has
an effect on the level of high frequency audio artifacts heard? i. e. LED BRT =
8 corresponds to louder audio tones?
Note that I am NOT trying to re-open an old topic, only trying to determine a

Subject: [Elecraft] K2 - Poor Audio Reports
On 160 mtrs, SSB as I move up the band I begin to get poor audio reports
at about 1.900mhz. The tuner is showing less than a 2:1 swr at that
point and I retune often as I move up. The antenna is a dipole centered
on 1.825mhz. Other than adding a shorter element to the dipole, any

Well, I was in somewhat the same position and decided to take the
easy way out. I bought a SignaLink USB. I plugged the USB into the

anything. Seems to work just fine.

Hi,
A K2 question. Will the CW key line at the key jack act in the same way as
the PTT line at the 8 pin mic connector when the radio is in the SSB
mode. Conversely, will the PTT line at the mic connector key the CW line
when in the CW mode ? It appears they are the same line.
Tnx

Depends on what you have set in the "Mode Control" tab of
the N1MM Logger configuration dialog. I generally set
RTTY to RTTY for FSK and set PSK to PSK (DATA A) for PSK.

lots of other purposes as well. "Spectrogram" is frequently mentioned

In config, set test mode on then, the select ADC REF.
The procedure is on page 53 of the manual.

Hi John,
Ok, tnx for the info. I think it'll be easier to just borrow my work laptop
for this anyway hi hi (I don't keep my MacOS VMWare up to date since I'm
completely Microsoft-free here at home as of a few years ago).

As a test, I just installed spectrogram 16 on my Sun VirtualBox virtual
Windows XP machine (Ubuntu). It installed with no problems and seems to
run. I didn't take the time to insert an audio input to the sound card,
but I suspect that should work as well.
Haven't tried VMware.

Ok thanks Don. I'll be darned hi hi.
Unfortunately, I'm Mac only so can't use Spectrogram. It's not really
critical tho as the chances of me adding the SSB module are pretty close to
zero.
Will Spectrogram work in a Windows VM (i.e. through VMWare)? If so might be
nice to tweak the filter setti

What I would find most useful is a code in a PIC that decodes K2 auxbus

Hi all,
Plenty of notice this week :)
I will be running the UK Elecraft net on 3658 +/- QRM at 09:00z tomorrow
(Sunday 28th Feb). The net is always well attended and a great place to try
out settings and discuss mods etc. I look forward to hearing you all then.
