Hello,
I have my beverage connected to the RX ANT IN and I can transmit into my TX
antenna while RX ANT is turned on without problem.
I tried to connect my 40 mts yagi to RX ANT IN because it was listening very
good, but I hear a continuous clicking, like a relay. What´s that? Why with

Anybody else noticing that there is considerable knob play in the four
shift/width/speed and cmp controls. The same for the RIT knob.
By knob play, I mean if you grasp the knobs and move them up/down or
side to side, they move that way. Not expected.
Odd, I never noticed it until not using

Gene,
Did you supply power to the KAT100 (note, no dash in the model number
for Elecraft products).
You must supply power to the coaxial 2.1 mm jack on the rear panel prior
to the time you power on the K2.

Jorge,
The clicking you hear is the COR (carrier operated relay) on the RX ANT
activating to protect the K3 receiver.
Your 40 mtr Yagi is picking up much more of your TX signal than the
Beverage.
You should take steps to reduce the amount of TX signal picked up by the
RX ant.

Brian,
Elecraft has switched to a tighter encoder for both the K3 and the KX1
so that condition is not present on newer K3s.
What you describe is 'normal' for the older K3s. Yes, they seem to
function just fine even with the shaft which has some sideplay.

Just one of many differences between analog and digital radios.
Since radios' frequency generation schemes have become more accurate,
most casual SSB operators will settle on half or integer kHz
frequencies. I have the coarse adjustment on my K3 set for 1/2 kHz

I do not believe an interface kit is currently available - a kit with
isolation transformers is problematic for the K2/100 because there just
is not room inside for transformers. If you want a simple box to switch

Hi Tom,
Seems is the proximity of the antennas.
I was using a sloper for 160 mts from a 118ft tower and the 40-2CD was on

So I couldn´t connect the 40-2CD in the RX ANT IN.

When doing the 40-Meter Transmitter Alignment, I couldn't keep the output

non-existent (.007Vrms) though key-down was noticeably different
Robert,
OK, the Pre-driver output is low - next step is to check the DC voltages
for Q5 - but that must be done during transmit. It is difficult (almost
impossible) to check the emitter without removing the heat-sink.
WARNING - even though the power output is low, do not operate the K2

When the antenna is connected and disconnected the noise floor moves
just barely. You can tell, but it requires a critical ear.
No, I'm not talking about antenna noise. I'm talking about
signals, in particular at 21.150. Using the pre-amp makes signals
that are unreadable

Put a Heil HC-5 in it (Heil provides a kit) or put an electret element
in the D-104 head. It will work great again.

I'm sure this topic has been covered before. I would like to use my Heil
BM-10-5 boomset and HMM-Y mic with my K2.
The HMM has both HC-4 and HC-5 elements, and an 8-pin connector
configured for Yaesu radios. The BM-10-5 has the HC-5 element, and a
1/8 mono phone plug. I don't have an adapter
Jim,
It all depends. If you are using the K2/100, then the RF gain through
the TX chain is usually sufficient for the HC-4 and HC-5 elements. If
you are using the K2/10, then a microphone amplifier to make up for the
lower output of those mic elements is prudent. The respomse on the
