My P3 shows my own SSB transmit waveform, but only if I am doing a screen
capture and transmitting while it's painting the screen on the P3 Mac utility.
After it's done writing it to the computer is when I see my own SSB waveform on
the P3 display. I think it's cool and would like this
Question, can the decoder decode more than the 3 transverter bands mentioned
when used with a K2.

Help:
I have tried to capture my own SSB display by pressing CAPTURE IMAGE button and
transmitting into the mike while the image is being formed. I have had no
success. I am using P3 Utility Windows version 1.3.9.2 and P3 firmware
revision 0.36. Dale, K9VUJ, is using the MAC P3 Utility and says he
The weekly Elecraft SSB net will meet tomorrow (10/3/10) at 1800z on 14.314
MHz. I will be net control from western Oregon, and I will try to swing the
antenna in multiple directions to get as many of you as I can. See you then.

Is it normal to have a 'spike' on frequency all the time ?
no antenna, moves off according to CW tone, otherwise
on the centre freq line. maybe it is normal?
thanks

No its not normal... Check to ensure that your chassis pieces are no
insulated from the brackets that hold them together.

There is a freeze feature in the menu. Assign that item to a button.
Then do your transmission and get what you want on the screen. When its
on the screen press the button that you assigned freeze to. Then with
the screen frozen in place use the utility to download that image.

Does anyone that built the SP-2 companion
speaker project happen to have a list of the parts
they ordered for the
amplifier? I want to build two of these and use
them for the two channel output on the K3. I'll
have one power switch
on one speaker front panel to control power to
both
Don,
Thanks for the response and info.
The wording in the Operating Manual made me think that the same values are used
for RTTY as for SSB, my mistake. I used Spectogram (surprisingly easy) and
have
everything working nicely now.
On the digital transmission heat issue. The rig is ok on
Jon,
Look to computer shops for fans from defunct computers - often you can
get them for free.
Put a resistor in series to reduce the fan speed (and noise), and place
the fan over the PA transistor area of the heat sink. The fan should
pull air away from the heat sink for the most
By any chance do you have something connected to the IF OUT connector on
the P3? We've seen LO leakage on some devices.

Good Evening,
It has been a pleasant week here in Oregon. Temperatures did get into
the hot region a couple times but mostly it was sunny and mild. Since the
weather was conducive to it I made my wood pile that much larger. One
would think after all the practice of cutting, splitting,
Hello fellow listers. Here I am once again soliciting opinions. So
far, the advice received from this reflector has been 100% helpful.
Thanks everyone!
I operated a real N2DAN Mercury key at W1AW. It was really something.
I've heard that Bencher's version (at around $600) is almost as good.
Have you seen http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/1552? K6JPA compares them
directly.

For now I've got a desk fan pointed at the rig when doing longer
