opportunity to closely inspect the 80 meter antenna today after running
a dummy load at the antenna switch and found a carbon trace on an
insulator at the feed point. Mystery solved.

waterfall information. the line out level configuration was at 10 as
suggested by Elecraft.
I plugged a set of stereo earphones into the line out jack and got no
sound at all.
Any suggestions about what to do next?

Check the RF chokes in the Line Out circuit (KIO3: Audio I/O board).
I've seen the choke in the ground (return) circuit fail on a couple
occasions.

While setting up the test I found a strange anomaly. If the pulse amplitude
went above 260mv, the overall noise floor increased. I’m not sure why this
happened but I suspect it has something to do with the DSP.
