Andrew, While those ranges will work, I usually like to see the lowest voltage a bit higher than 1.6 volts. Set the frequency that produces the highest voltage (4000 kHz) and spread the turns of T5 a bit to increase the voltage at R30. I would suggest that you try setting it to about 6.5

There is a lot of variation in the RTC's oscillator's frequency. I know 4 or 5 K3 owners, and all theirs have different errors. Mine is slow by about 1 second per day, but one of the guys has his fast by about 3 seconds per month. You may be able to parallel a trimmer of 2-4 pF at the capacitor

Dave, AM is a double sideband signal, so the audio you receive will be only about half that of your filter setting. The 2.7 kHz roofing filter is limiting the demodulated audio to about half the width of that filter - 1.35 kHz - so you will not hear any high audio frequencies no matter how

Seems like the K3 clock drift could be corrected automatically with a small software application - assuming the K3 is connected to a PC, just let the app launch at boot time and have it periodically send the PC's time to the K3, without any user interaction. Most modern OS should have the option

This limitation of audio bandwidth of AM signals to 1.35 kHz is only true when the AM carrier is centered in the roofing filter passband. As Don says, AM is a double sideband signal, but you only need to receive one sideband to hear all the audio. You can use the big knob on the K3 to tune

Andrew, The 6 volt initial setting at 4000 kHz is an initial setting. And like I said, your settings will work fine. I prefer to see all voltages above 1.8 volts, so the voltage at 7000 kHz is a bit lower than my preference. If you can use the L30 setting to increase the voltage, then do
