Hi All,
Problem solved! The problem was in my K3S. A simple Transmitter Gain
calibration procedure fixed it. (This calibration you start in the K3 PC
utility). Now I am very curious to better understand why this calibration
fixed it. Also curious to know why a 6 week old K3S, built by the

Is there distortion on your live audio? I recently had some mic/DVR RF

I have total of three cables (using two at the time, normally). I didn't make
them so I'm not sure if it is shielded or not, cables are with ferrite beads
next to the jacks, on both sides of cables. I have used those cables for two
years, never experienced any problem. Nothing changed in my setup
All of a sudden I am experiencing a slight distortion on the playback from my

I had just recorded for CQWW recently and it sounded perfect. Anyone have any
ideas what may be causing this?

Have you tried replacing the audio cables between the K3 and PC
soundcard? You may have an open shield in the cable.

I tried to ground PC - no difference.
When connected to MIC input, I tried various BIAS settings. With all three

Thanks for the comments. I was reading about Dual Watch but I have it
turned off in the menu. I've not been able to duplicate it so I'm not sure
what triggered that message. I'll keep digging.

Do you have Dual Watch turned ON. This feature requires stereo phones or
speakers to realize the effect.

The audio input settings (source jack, bias, mic gain, etc.) are set and
remembered independently in voice modes vs data modes.
In voice modes, set the MAIN:MIC SEL, bias and MIC gain control to wherever
you need them for your voice and microphone. Set MAIN:MIC+LIN to OFF

diode problem as a possiblity.
I wonder what the
