Subject: Re: [Elecraft] K2/100 75 meters lost receive
Chuck,
The usual cause for no receive on one band is that the RX ANT has been
selected for that band. While on 80 meters, enter the menu and check to see
if it is on or off.

Hello group,
My K2/100 with KAT2 seems to have lost recieve on 75 meters only. It
transmits fine there but upon releasing the mic it sounds like the coax has
been cut. This is in a mobile installation using a screwdriver antenna with
a swr of less than 1.2:1. It matters not whether the ATU is
Gentlemen,
A friend of mine just finished building his K3 which is working well except
for one anomoly: when he engages the NR, at any level, the S meter jumps to
an s7-9 level. It isn't effecting the signal to noise ratio as signals now
run in the S9 plus region--it is like it is shifting the
Is anybody running WINMOR with a K2 and SignaLink? If so what are your
transmitter settings in WINMOR and how are you keying the K2? If I try
using my com port for PTT it does key, but it also steps the radio to the
mext mode, which is problematic. Any insight would be appreciated.

I post a summary, here it is:

Does anyone have experience freeing antenna parts that have seized with
aluminum oxide? I'm trying to free up the sections of a 32' boom for
transport. The sections are swaged 6 and penetrating oil doesn't seem to
be cutting it.

After months of stalling and reading this reflector I decided to do the KDSP
upgrade. That, combined with careful attention to AGC settings, made what
was already the best radio I've owned even better. Many thanks to those of
you who took the time to explain to the group how the AGC settings
Congratulations, Mark. It is a great feeling to get it all together and on
the air.

I would encourage all who are considering building an Elecraft kit to go get
started. The product and support is great. If a dunderhead like me can do
it, so can you.
I built and installed one of Don's Fixed Audio Outputs on perfboard a month
or so back, and it works beautifully. Thanks, Don!
Chuck, NN7U
I am assuming you are referring to the W3FPR Don's Fixed Audio Output
fpr the K2.
Yes, that is a good solution, but unfortunately, there are no more
A standard RS232 cable won't work. The cable must be wired as shown in the
K2 manual.

Many thanks to Don Wilhelm and Jim Brown for what amounts to a tutorial
on using the K3 AGC settings given over the past few days. I found the
discussion very helpful and effective, and was enabled to attack my
settings purposefully, rather that using a shotgun, shoot in the dark
approach.
Now,
Good day group,
I've used the XG2 to calibrate the S-meter of my K2 and got calibration
results of S-LO of 191 and S-HI of 007. My 50mv input results in an S-9
signal (6 segments on the bar graph), turning off the XG2 results in 1 bar
flickering. So far so good according to the book. The
Can someone tell me where to find Beta release 3.27? I've looked on the
Elecraft fpt site and see version 3.3 and the Old Beta folder the numbers
stop at 3.19. I've refreshed the browser but still don't see what I'm
looking for.
Thanks,

I can't get the K3 Utility to talk to the K3. When I test communications I
get no dialog boxes at all, and it doesn't populate the Installed in Radio
column. I upgraded to the latest Utility and got the same results. Thinking
it might be the KUSB, I bit the bullet and installed a standard serial
Can anyone help me out with interfacing a KAM Plus tnc to the K3? I'm
specifically interested in Pactor operation for EmComm purposes. So far I
can get it to receive only by using SSB, not any of the digital modes. On
transmit, it will key the transmitter, but not modulate it. I'm using Line
Greetings to the group,
I built K2/100 3347 a couple of years ago with the idea of using it as a
mobile rig. It performed so well in the bench trials that my venerable
TS-940 wound up on eBay. The purchase of K3 2693 last month put the K2
back on track to the mobile. My question to those of
