I did check my firmware revision numbers, and have 5.62 and 1.09 in the
K-pod.
In my original post I stated that after sending the M>V macro (which does
bring up the flashing memory number) that pressing the Up or DN macro
caused the display to revert to its original frequency and nothing else

I am trying to set up the K-pod to step through the K3 memories like using the
M>V button and main dial. To do so I've programmed 3 of the K3 pf buttons with
one command each:
Macro 14 (labelled M>V) = SWT23;Macro 15 (labelled MEM UP) = UP;Macro 16
(labelled MEM DN) = DN;
I realize that the UP
Is there anything in the works to provide a macro editor for the P3 that allows
creation and editing of the 50 macros in the SVGA? That would be really helpful
and a vast improvement over the present, very limited, editing capability.

Thanks for the quick response, gentlemen. I've got what I need now, and
Dave, thanks for the link to your site with the spreadsheet. Much
appreciated.

However, if you decide on the K2, I would go for the DSP over the KAF. It
is more versatile, but does have a different sound.

I think so, but I'm going to have to take a look. It's certainly possible I
stuck it in the wrong slot, even though I usually double check.

Hi Wayne,
No new synth. I first noticed the problem when using diversity, but it
persists when the receivers are separated. I'm thinking it is probably a
construction or installation problem and wanted to know if there are known
errors that would cause this.

I built one on perf board. It's simple, tucks in neatly and works very well.
Good luck.

Fred,
I would use spectrogram to set the audio filters--it helps me to get a
visual of what the pass band will look like, and it's just easier to keep
track of what you're doing. Use the DSP menu settings for the audio filter
setup--your xfilters are already set.

Problem solved by resoldering everything around TX Buffer U9. Many thanks to
Don Wilhelm W3FPR for his sage advice. The radio would be going back to

Chris,
I built Don's fixed audio output on perfboard--very easy to do and works
well. I coupled it with a Tigertronics SignaLink for a clen, compact

I somehow lost two emails to the ether so I can't do a direct reply, but
thanks for the response. Yes, I'm sure it's pin 7 that has the 4.6 volts on
it. Pin 8 has the expected 6 volts, and all the other voltages listed in
the manual check out.

I'm installing the KAT2 and am having trouble getting C55 to null (as so many
have.) I've rewound T1, checked for solder bridges, errors in component
placement, orientation or value and every thing else I can find to try from
gleaning these archives. The only anomaly I can find so far is that pin
