Why couldn't the P3 have had buffered IQ outputs so that it wouldn't be
necessary to purchase extra hardware to run those other PC apps? The IQ
signals have to be there inside the P3 anyway, right?

would have thought that anyone contemplating spending $700 for any box, even

As I said before, if Elecraft can develop and sell a high power amplifier for a
reasonable profit, that's great. Otherwise, I hope they don't try because I'd
sure like to see them still be here a few years from now.

Not being facetious, but you can take the IF output from the K3 and feed
to them. Expecting them to sell you a multi-$K item for no
financial return is simply fanciful.

Dear Larry,
Big question: QUADRATURE OUTPUTS
Two quick questions:
1. Does it have any kind of point/click capability for tuning the K3 to a
signal visible on the P3?
and/or
2. Does it provide any capability to feed I/Q signals to a computer for use by
third party software (such as CW Skimmer).

Not at present, but this might be accommodated by a change to the I/O
DDRR and made several contacts, but the RF
burns it put out if I got too close to it were very painful.

That's not really true. The DDRR is NOT a loop antenna. The DDRR is a very
short vertical with top loading contributed by a shorted transmission line
(formed by the horizontal loop and the ground plane). Check the field
polarization
