There is no reason to limit the loop to a single turn.
A 3 turn 1ft diameter loop should be tuneable to 40M !

I do not know if they are still available, but I've been using
"Tweakers" for many years now on the KX line. They are powered by an
internal battery that is rechargeable from any USB port/charger..
I usually can get at least 4-6 hours out of a charge

I have a set of headphones, made by Newcome, that measure 543 Ohms
DC
They are the old magnet-diaphragm type from the late '30's early '40's and
have such a limited frequency response that they are ideal for Ham work...
They seem to work with just about everything I have ;^))

the other, should keep the infestation down.
Due to my local environment, a lot of airborne fine silica dust and cat dander,
cleaning my electronic appliances using the above method is a regular
occurrence.

The APP kit I bought (some time ago) from PowerWerx contained the
cheap crimper, anc 20 sets of 30A APP's including the roll pins...
In over three years I have NOT had a roll pin come out!!

Light weight, not too tight around the ears and works well with radios

The only product that produces no RFI at all is the pet rock.
Even rock has a radiation signature..
BTW - If you are worried about radiation, don't do a walking tour of
Edinburgh, Scotland... Granite is 'radio' active

The way I read the manual description and diagrams is:-
If you want to use a separate RX antenna *without* the KAT3 and *without*
the sub-Rx then you *must* have the KXV3...

I tuned my new K3 to 640 KHz to listen to a local AM radio station.
I was connected to my 40M inverted Vee.
By any chance, is the KA3 still in cicuit and still tuned to 40M??
I usually forget to take the ATU out of the circuit for BC band makes a
big difference

the load time is instantaneous!
90% of the code takes 10% of the time to get right.

I can second that item...
I bought one several years ago, I calibrated mine to less than 0.1 cps at
10MHz. Using a 9V battery and a 5 minute warm-up, it has maintained its
calibration to date.
There is a multi-turn pot on the PCB for fine tuning

De-Oxit Gold for Gold xcontacts
De-Oxit regular for Tin/Lead/etc contacts
I use both. Just be sure to let it dry before re-applying power.

Looking at the Pricing Sheet
What is the difference between;
Internal ATU w/2nd Ant. Jack @ $259, and
100-W Internal ATU, Installed @ $289...
Does that imply that the ATU w/@nd Ant will not handle 100W??

How about that 20M Swiss Quad I built??
SWR was absolutely flat across the whole band... in fact it
was flat on EVERY band...couldn't hear a darn thing BUT it
was flat :-))

Loyalty is a great thing and is to be admired, but to keep
things in comparative and fair perspective...
A fully loaded K2/100 with K2DSP and the external tuner is
$1662 in kit form.
And not forgetting that the K2 does NOT have a built in
expandable PC with a USB I/O port...flash

FWIW I am getting sorted out for SOTA Switzerland, the
mountains and dog are ready, just need the radio.
It depends on how good the dog is at CW
