I've decided to part with my Kx3, in favor of the Kx1 for portable
operations. Before I put this up on QRZ, I thought I'd offer it for sale
here.
It works very well. It's just that I usually find myself on 30 or 40
meter CW and it's far to capable a rig to just use 10% of the features.
I've upgraded my K3 with the KXV3b and don't need the PR-6 any more. It's for
sale, with the power cable, for $80. Pictures on request.

I didn't study this site too deeply, but KP4MD has the most appropriate
characteristics on her page, here, http://www.qsl.net/kp4md/zipcord.htm.
You might also look at Owen Duffy's pages. His transmission line calculator is
great. I think the last entry for zip 105 is zip cord, but you should
Just an ordinary ESD bag will do? That sounds way too easy.

I think 42 might be a valid answer, depending on the question. Forty-one is
certainly a good answer!
There are a couple pages that try to address the question of what long wire
lengths are the easiest to tune, i.e. present a low SWR to the matching unit.
The first is at
So does Davis... http://www.davisrf.com/buryflex.php. I've bought a lot of wire
from them. Plus, I like calling them to place the order, rather than filling
out an automatic form.

Best possible could run into some money. You can get Pasternack to build a 36
in. jumper from RG223 ( double shielded and very small bend radius) for about
$35. You can buy the parts for about $22 and DIY.
I ran my K3 with the K3IOB upgrade card installed. I also have a P3 and set it
to a 10 KHz span. Before, when I used the line out as an input to Fldigi, it
seemed like there was a little more tolerance in how I tuned in on the space
signal. Now, I notice that the K3 decodes text when I get

I tried this the other day with no success. That is, the weak signal that was
barely detectable, became so buried in ringing that I couldn't detect it at
all. I think I followed the procedure outlined in Wayne's email below...
Noise was around S5 on 40m and the K3 was configured with APF active.
Thanks. I'll try again and be very careful this time.

The receiver has to be tuned precisely to the signal in question for APF to

I was looking for a way to automatically reduce power when operating on
batteries. It seems like another transceiver I once owned had a pin that, when
grounded would reduce output power to conserve batteries.
I don't see any handy way to do this with the K3, other than crank down the
power...
I also have finished the KIO3B upgrade to my K3, so my old KIO3 is available.
Please make all inquiries off list.
