My trusty old K3, SN 123 in operation almost daily since late 2007, and has
performed almost flawlessly since. It has been updated regularly with most
options and could be considered “almost K3S”. It has been back to the
mothership once about 10 years ago for a quick fix due to lightning ESD.

Grant,
Something else I've noticed since getting the KXPA100 is the Select knob on
the PX3 gets flaky if it's turned too fast. It seems to work fine if you
turn it slowly. For instance when setting the Ref Level if the Select
control is turned very fast the display just jitters and doesn't change
Grant,
Don’t know if it’s normal behavior but my setup is exactly like yours and the
behavior is the same. Especially noticeable at a high tuning rate. I bought the
KXPA100 from an individual but it had never been used, essentially new.

Since I no longer am much interested in the digital modes and need to clear
some space, I am offering for sale a US Interface Navigator sound card
modem. This is the older model (silver) before Timewave bought out US
Interface. It works great and is a 9 out 10 cosmetically (some minor rub

Susan, are you running through an interface? What kind of cable are you
using? HRD requires that you use a comm port that is not shared with other
processes.
I'm running Vista on a Dell laptop with HRD v5/DM780 through a Navigator
interface to the K3. Have no problems except as Nick has already
It was the bias setting. I knew it had to be something simple!

I haven't been on sideband for several months and this past weekend I
decided to try to pick up a country or three during the contest.
I switched the K3 over to USB on 15M, put the Heil Proset on, turned on VOX
and gave a little whistle and nothing happened. Tried PTT with no luck there
either.
Yep.
K2 #789
K1 #123
K3 #123
In that order and wouldn't part with any of 'em!!
BTW: The K1 and K3 serials are correct. Just the luck of the draw!

It can be configured for 80 meters or 30 meters and could probably be
diddled to provide coverage up to 500kHz.
Very inexpensive and works great!
