Hi Guys,
I'd appreciate your thoughts as to why my K-3 receiver is so noisy. I'd
really like to make this radio perform. The radio is Serial #603F

Enno,
Look at the release notes for 3.30 and you will see reference to the
audio blast. Sorry you missed it.

In the release notes
Hi Max,
It seems that the KPA3 is not as efficient on 6m as on the other bands. My
K3 draws 21.5A at 6m/100W.
A friend of mine who owns a K3 complained about this phenomenon as well (25%
more current on 6 than on other bands).
Maybe the design team can explain this behavior ...
-- Enno, PF5X
. This gives the RX a more analogue
behaviour and it increases the distance between the background noise level and
desired signal. I am still using F/W 2.76, so the new options in F/W 3.0x might
be able to further improve the situation.

Hello everybody,
During last CQ

SUB AF balance
SPKR+PH no
SPKRS 1
unqoute
So you can test a bit for yourself with these settings and see if you can
reproduce this behaviour. I have not received an answer from Lyle yet, but I
am sure he is digging into this as I type this ...

Hi
on the microKEYER router software it appears that the SUB output is
lower than the MAIN output with the balance knob in the 12 o'clock position
(after equalizing both main and sub with double tapping AB). This is effect
is also audible (~6dB difference).
Any cure for that ??

Guys,
I can't find any where on the reflector the info I need so here is my

I'm using N1MM and I'm trying to get the second band map to work and I
can't seem to get it going.
The second band map is present
Thanks Lyle.
Looking forward to it !

Any ideas or any plans to include a gain factor between AF setting and

those
previous settings the noise floor of the receiver went down. Something you
may want to try at your end.

Hi all,
My K3 #1263 was delivered in July with F/W MCU 2.18 DSP 1.84 and I was
really enjoying the RX capabilities of the K3. Now that I have
onwards. So I wonder if other people have the same experience.
I live in an urban area so it IS noisy out here. It is just the way the K3
deals with that noisy background level.
When switching to ANT2 (not connected to anything) the RX goes virtually
silent.

Thanks Gary (and others),
I think that since fitting the 2nd RX the unit gets quite a bit
warmer. The supply volts are 13.7 and the current on receive is
