Okay, the abstinence for soldering got unbarable, so I ordered an
additional band module for 80 and 40 meters for my little K1. While at
it, I also ordered some extra headphone jacks to have handy just in case..
Delivery was prompt and just as I wanted. No complaints what so ever!

Hakan,
I ordered some repair parts once. They came in a small padded
envelope. They were *smashed*!!

I have just put together the KSB2 SSB ADAPTER and I have problems.
Referring to the manual on page 15 “Initial Test” the last paragraph
“Verify that the K2 performs...” I do not get any sound in the
loudspeaker, or the sound I get is very very muted. I can hear some very
faint - both CW and
Don, it was a short betwen either RFC1 or RFC2 and one of the crystal
cases that caused the problem.
Really embarassing because it was basically the first and only real
problem I have come upon building my K2 #5810 and all the extras... :-)
It's so easy to happen that I really think it
Thanks for info Geoff/GM4ESD and Graham/KE9H!
I will report back when the new core is installed to see if there's any
improvement.

you can get better output on 10 meters by substituting
the regular core of T2 by an Amidon BN-43-302 binocular core.
It does not seems to be possible to get such a core in Sweden.
Does anyone know
So now I am about to put the KI02 RS-232 I/O Option into my K2.
Now I want to work CW from the computer using serial port
control line keying. That should be simple, but what
circuit/components are you guys using to do that?
Any links were I can read about it?
Please tell me so I don't mess
Thanks Joe!
That's simple enough. Just about right for my level! :-)
Is there any reason in practice to use optic coupling versus direct keying?
I'm going to use it for a K2 and never ever going to upgrade to K2/100
or using an amplifier.

Got the kit last Friday and it's now Tuesday! :-)
No missing or wrong part. Instructions very easy to follow! All three
smoke tests went without any kind of problems at all. Output pwr not 15,
but 12 watts on 20 meter, but that should be OK, I think...
