The TinySA ultra has many uses in the ham shack.
It has a nice frequency generator function including AM/FM modulation plus some
nice spectrum analyzer features only found on much more expensive devices.

I went back and re-read you article. I had made a setup for my KX3 a few years
back and couldn’t remember all of the details. Thanks for reposting!!
BTW, Lyle’s article you mention, the link is dead. It was a great resource if
you can find it again!
Thanks,

I upgraded the relay in my AL-1200 which is faster but I still set the TX delay
up a little. Keying cable is all you need after that.

I can attest to at least one part I received as a surprise from Elecraft. I
bought a K3S kit in 2018. I bought a internal 2m transverter 2nd that did not
work well. I sent the whole thing in for a checkup (K3s et al) and had the 2

I had similar issues with the Powerwerx, but it occurs only with loads above 15
amps for any length of time. The fan noise was so loud it was annoying. With
some age on the supply it's much worse. I swapped to an Astron

Interesting setup!!!
I have used the 1026 with good success for powerline noise caused by a failing
lightning arrestor. The power company finally fixed it!!!
Our neighbors had an old Plasma TV that they would infrequently use and the

It has happened to me - not on a K3 but on a power supply. I sold a perfectly
good 50 Amp Astron linear DC supply on eBay. Guy said it didn't work and
shipped it back to me.
Before I sold it, I added 3 new MOV's as per an article on repeater-builder.
They were a certain color and size and

Just wanted to mention how my little KX3 keeps impressing me! We took the jeep

little bit. The old fire tower is still there but slated for demolition. I
set up the KX3 on a big rock facing down the powerline ROW. I
Great story!!!
I remember in 2019 making a cool contact like that. I was running the KX3 at 10

100 watts into a wire dipole.

Some pretty bold generalizations except for pricing maybe and Heil’s industry
associations.
I dislike my CM500’s. They are uncomfortable to wear for an extended period of
time. I do have RFI issues with them when running full power on HF SSB.
I have an older Heil headset - not sure which
I use 2 seperate ones for my KX3: Mirage B-34-G for portable/SOTA ops (3 watts

I bought them both used on QRZ.com from hams with good seller ratings there. I

I was thinking the same thing. Several posters here said that the phase noise
created was worse than the Elecraft part. I do not understand enough about the
process to understand how that works. I keep hoping someone will buy one and

I run a Timewave PK-232sc+. Besides having an excellent quality sound card, you
can run traditional FSK RTTY. If you have the 2 meter module installed, you can
run VARA FM and 1200 baud packet for Winlink.
If you have an older PK-232, you can buy the sound card kit which includes USB
upgrades

Do you have a time correction program running on your PC like Dimension 4? If
not you will make very few if any contacts. The transmissions between stations
have to be synced.

I have had the same problem - It depends where the crystal ends up frequency
wise. Turn the tech menu on and go to the ref menu item and see what frequency
is there. If the last 3 digits are well below 500, then the 2 meter offset
will be very noticeable.

I have one in my K3s and use it a fair amount. I'm also a DXLabs software
user, so having 2 meters integrated into one radio with HF - 6m works great.
Besides working FM repeaters and Winlink packet, I run an external 200 watt
amplifier for SSB. There again, the integration with DXLabs
Using something like the MFJ-1026 works well for me, BUT the 2 receceiving
antennas must be similar to work well in my experience - i.e. 2 dipoles or 2
verticals with similar gain characteristics to get the most out of the little
black box.

I had a 70 Amp do the same thing.

Have you tried pulling your main AC breaker and running your K3 on a car
