Many contesters with large budgets use K3 to win or obtain top scores in SSB

The balun made of a jumper between the radio and the tuner works at low SWR
so its losses are negligible. The same jumper on the outside will work at
possibly very high SWR and may have substantial losses.

it is hot or not depends not
only on power but also on impedances to transform. I used BL1 with too short
wires and the balun was hot but I was making contacts.
For precision measurements buy VNA that can be calibrated.

is does not invalidate the warranty. My
modified Expert needs from 5 to 8 W for a KW so KX3 drives it perfectly.
Each extra stage increases distortions and adds cables. So doing it directly
is beneficial if it can be done.

it is. Many "free" websites now change designs, often for the
worse to a user, to generate more advertising. Perhaps it is due to an ad

With dual receive, my KX3 has different gains from VFO A and B. This is
easily heard when switching pressing A/B. When in dual receive, a weak
station in VFO B may disappear as VFO B.
I do not hear this in K3. When A/B switching, the signals just change sides.
Any workaround?

is
same as in KX3.
The bandpass filters in K3 also cover two bands but have extra caps switched
in, probably for single band coverage. This would explain why K3's are not
interfering much cross band.

including good antenna tuner
2) well compressed signal on SSB if on phone
If KX2 is like KX3, big yes to 1) and not much to 2). But you can always buy
TT-715 and increase the punch of KX2 in SSB by 2-4 times.

. In all cases, two random wires were the best, often by far,
across bands. But setting up a portable vertical is easy, one long wire is
hard, and 2 long wire is the hardest.
In a nutshell, random wires are fine with exact length unimportant. If
tuning problems, use a small balun.

During a very successful 160m run, K3 stuck in transmit, the SS amp switched
off and then K3 turned off. After turning on, the right channel is gone.
With SUB on, both signals are in the left ear. Any possibility it is not a
hardware fault?
