Two good packages are Hamlog and RUMlog. Both work with the iPad and KX3 if
you have a piglet/pigail serial to wifi bridge. Both can be used with out
rig control. RUMLog also can interchange files with the Mac version of the
program via DropBox to make things easy. I like the UI better on RUMLog
I think what he is trying to do is use iSDR on the iPad to hear the signals he
is touching. The I/Q goes to the line in and the headphones go to the out on
the iMic. What he needs to do is set the iMic to mic not line to make the
signal the iPad sees stronger and adjust iSDR gain settings in
I got the kit John talks about and made the antenna. Its was quick and fun to
make. I have a question about it though. I had a 70' wire that I had been
using just for RX to test a IC-718 and I hooked it up to the UNUN box instead
of the 30' wire that came with the kit. Its below 2:1 on 6m,
Arno,
One thing about the SDR part of a KX3 you may be overlooking is it can be
updated and improved all the time with new firmware downloads. You may also
find the DSP and filtering of the KX3 might add to the enjoyment of CW. Also
having the I/Q output gives the ability to have a panadapter
I agree I also use RUMLog and Fldigi from the Mac with my KX3. The main thing
that seems to be lacking on the Mac is good working SDR software. Otherwise I
think I am good not running Windows...

Apple makes a lighting version of the camera connector kit. I am using that. It
plugs right in and gives you a short cable to connect the iMic to. It should be
nicer then using the 30pin adapter plus a camera kit. It is also cheeper to not
buy the adapter. If you already own the 30pin camera
I have been using the Apple lightning camera adapter and iMic working no
problem with my iPad Mini and iSDR

That is exactly how it works for me... Works with iPad or iPhone. I am
using the lighting version of the camera adapter with my iPad Mini even.
