I've been using the Heil version of the Clear Speech Noise Reduction Speaker
for ~ 5 years. It has a 5 position noise control and I usually leave it at
1, which knocks down the noise without any negative effects on the sound.
Heil no longer makes it, but I believe it uses similar circuitry.

anyone can send me his contact info, I'll write him, or his estate, a note.

Hi Ron,
I used to be KB0G, so your message kind of popped out at me. I had a couple
of qsos with KB6G in 1982 1988 and have a qsl for one of them.
From the FCC Database:
KB6G belonged to Thomas W. Moyer
settings.
so my question to the group is; has anyone else run into this and can
someone who has broken the code clue me in?
Just in case you need to know, I have a single receiver K3 with 400 Hz and
6.0 KHz filters also.

Has anyone found a configuration that works better on all the bands?
Previously I have been using an MFJ 962D manual tuner that is able to tune

I would like to try using a wireless headset on my K3.
I currently am using a Heil Pro Set that works fine, but I'd like to be able
to leave the station and still talk using VOX.
I talked to a ham who was using a Jabra GN9330e Wireless Headset, and it
sounded great. He was not on an Elecraft
carry
DeoxIT.

I have a K-3, S/N 1997 and was talking to a friend who also has a K-3 on the
air recently. He mentioned that he also recently purchased a Yaesu FT 5000
and noticed that the noise reduction on the FT 5000 seems to do a better job
of reducing the noise while still having good copy on the signal.
I have a K-3, S/N 1997 that I am very happy with.
So here's my questions:
I read that the K-3 can be run as a remote station. Is anyone doing this?
Does anyone have any comments on how this works compared to the Kenwood TS
2000, which a friend of mine let's me use remotely, using W4MQ's

Gentlemen:
I have a K-3, S/N 1997 and have tried using it on PSK 31 on several
occasions. I've tried using it with Ham Radio Deluxe, which did work OK,
but HRD seems too Microsoftish for my tastes and takes too much time to set
up so I'd like to use something simpler.
I've also used
I just returned from a trip and was off line for a few weeks.
Any update on when the P3 will be available?

I recently noticed the temperature of the case on my K-3 seemed a little
warmer than usual (the room temp here has been up to 25 C).
I checked the 2 settings on the PA TEMP and FP TEMP and they both were
reading as high as 35 C. I checked in the manual and per instructions,

I just added the 2.1 KHz 8 pole BPF to my K-3. I already have the 2.7 KHz 5

I can get it to operate manually as expected. When I adjust the DSP
bandwidth, I observe the following:

Last night a group of us were on 7.203 MHz ~ 8 p.m. PDT, and we began

stations as far away as Calgary and Utah showed up.

What I'd really like to hear from is someone who considers himself to have
mastered PSK31 on the K3. I also have DigiPan, which is supported by the

text on the subject.

OK I finally got my computer hooked up thru the mic in / headphones jack
with 1/8 inch stereo cables connected to the line in/out on the K-3, and
have it working...
I also have the USB/serial adapter connected. With this setup, I am using

Is there a more

which works fine. Do I need to use the sound card in my laptop too?

Hi Steve,
I actually have a 746 Pro and also noticed the noise blanker's
ineffectiveness.
I used my K-3 for a month without getting around to trying the noise
