John,
FWIW, my West Mountain Radio COMspkr set totally free of interference.
The unit with the amp is immediately beside a 1KW amp and the antenna
cables for several rigs pass within inches behind the unit(s).

My K3 (SN 56) has the non-gold pins ... just checked them while in
the process of adding the LO stiffeners ... and they are unblemished.
It's had heavy contest use, too. Our Montana climate is dry ... this
may be a factor.

We'll address a potential padded case next. It's a complex

over and above the KX3.

Here's my question: What are the two spikes that I see about 500 Hz to
each side of 28.130, approximately 25-30 dB down from the center's peak
level (-125 to -130 dB)? These spikes
Most sheet metal shops can sheer copper sheets into almost any width one
would want, and the cost is reasonable. I had about half of a 4 x 8 sheet
sut into 1 and 2 inch x 4 foot strips several years ago and that's used
throughout my station's grounding system.
Wayne, you spin a nice yarn. Enjoyed the read. (:-))

same with me, except it's a K3/100 on HF and K3/10 on UHF (through
transverter TR432H). Running 750W on HF (sometimes) and up to 700W on
UHF (during contests) there are absolutely no problems. Rigs are
connected via an Edgeport USB - 4Serial-converter and audio in/out
phono lines.

I think I recall a thread about spurs being produced by
a K3's TX, but didn't pay enough attention at the time.
I've since become aware of a K3 that appeared to have
two spurs showing up on my P3. They were about 30db
down from his very strong carrier on 7031 KHZ, and equally
spaced about 1
An IRC Model 196 is an excellent solution. I have
them on my K2 and K3.
I think they're available from Array Solutions.

David,
The 6M repeater offsets here in the US are either 1.0 or 1.6 MHZ. There are
exceptions, but not many. A duplexer for only a .5 MHZ frequency separation
would be difficult to build.

Subject: [Elecraft] P3 cursors
hi folks,
just preparing everything for the IARU-region 1 UHF/SHF-contest
(10/2-3).
While testing I was not able to set the P3's cursors beyond 200 MHz.
Anybody show me the right way to exceed this frequency limit please.
I'm sure this must be a software bug between operator's ears.
