Hi,
I am having trouble locating spare finger pieces for this key. I have tried
Bencher suppliers in the UK, and none keep spares.
I have also e-mailed Bencher and to date not had a reply, perhaps they are on
holiday.
Morse Express is the only place I have actually seen finger pieces for

Hi All,
Just checked some of the knobs and it would seem some of the threads in the
knobs are not parallel and get tighter as the grub screw is screwed further
in. It would seem that a tapered tap has been used on some of the holes and
due to small shaft hole has not been through enough to
Hi All,
I was just wondering about the 40 m and started to listen to the AM
broadcasts.
I also found the nasty noises, but when I checked on the LP-Pan, I found the
signal was ok.
Of course, when I turned off the noise blanker it went away.
Yet another senior moment.

Hi,
My advice is not to use the long lever end of the hex key, insert the long
end in the grub screw.

Whilst looking around the TenTec website I saw that they offer different
versions of the firmware for the Jupiter for different types of operator.
There are the standard radio and cw personalities available at the moment.
Since it is quite easy to load different firmware versions, the
Hi,
I just had a listen to my K3 when keying. I cannot hear the tick at all in
my left ear, but can hear it in my right ear providing I turn my ear towards
the top of the K3. If I put my mechanical wrist watch (Tudor Submariner) to
my ear it is louder than the tick from the K3.

Hi,
In the interest of protecting the audio amplifier I have just added the two
470 ohm resistors as per the modification.
I now get thump on my powered speakers when I power up the K3, or plug in
the headphones.
I do not recollect this happening before.

Hi,
For the benefit of those K3 owners in the UK, Tesco have a 1/2 price offer
on Logitech X-140 speakers at £19.97. My K3 has never sounded so good on
AM.
They need quite a bit of drive, they are connected to the rear head phone
socket with AF GAIN on HI.
The finish also matches the K3 ok
Hi All,
The fan noise does not get louder than my tinitus until on speed 4, and then I
can only hear air noise.

Hi All,
I have noticed this problem as well, and also with the sdr 1000. I just
widen the tx passband on the sdr 1000, so perhaps we could use the 6 kHz
filter for A mode data transmission.

Hi All,
I had to go find an old Stanley cross head screw driver, as the posidriver
was not a good fit. Having looked at the old Stanley driver #810 I can see
that the cross sides are quite tapered as compared with the posidriver and
this probably the reason for the better fit. If anyone is
Hi All,
I did an experiment with my K3 this afternoon, and found the top cover
resonating at about 400 Hz, but I had to turn the AF gain to full to get it
really going. With the gain at half I could not really notice it.
The front edge of the top cover was vibrating against the front panel
Hi All,
I have just connected my TT RX 320 to the IF port on my K3, and there seems
to be plenty of signal available.
With the K3 on 7030 kHz I could tune the RX320 right through the 41 m
broadcast band.
The only pecularity is that the RX 320 needs to be tuned lf to go hf and
vice versa and

In UK 11 July, four days to get to North of Scotland.

No real problems with the build, just the front panel fiddle, needed another
pair of hands.
Hi All,
I bought a used flex sdr 1000 whilst waiting for a K3, and would agree with

It does however make a good modem for digi modes!
That was a mission in itself getting the virtual connections etc to

I found it almost impossible to send Morse, although Power SDR v 12 seems

Is there some reason why the I and Q signals from the K3 could not be used

Hi all,
When I first started my engineering education in 1962 I was taught to join
multi strand cable by splicing and soldering the joint and then insulating

until aluminium cable turned up and joints could only be made
Hi All,
I am being plagued by what sounds like an arc welder on 40 m. I have no NB or

Being an intermittent random broadband noise, how would the noise blankers in

I sit my Begali Magnet Pro on a Dell rubber backed mouse mat to reduce the

Regarding the K2 qsk; in comparison to my TT Corsair II it sounds almost
like semi break in to me. However, I bought the K2 for portable operation,
