Here is a link with a good pictorial on creating holes in an Altoids tin.
I have used this method using a T-Handle reamer from Ace Hardware and it
works great.

A while back there was a discussion on resistor color coding,
Ran across this link. A freeware program, it's kind of neat. Win XP
would not run it but it ran on my Win 98 machine.
Check it out at:

I've been building this puppy for the past year or so (about on schedule, for
me -- my K2 took 18 months). It's designed to put out about 35 watts, as Sandy
says, and I'm planning on using it to boost my K2's output on psk31. (I'll
have to run it at reduced power on

Tony,
The Info 201 message tells me that the K2 'thought' that everything had to
be initialized. The only thing I can think of is that AUXBUS communication
was/is misbehaving.
I would first drag out the schematic and look at everywhere the AUXBUS
signal travels
Hi Guys,
K2 #4049 w/KPA100 + KAT100. Working without any problems for almost a year.
Was running MMTTY @ 25 wts today. After returning to receive K2 locked
up, no audio not able to do anything. Turned it off and back on and all
was normal except could not access menu. Turned it off again and
Steve,
Glad your K2 performed well in the contest.
I too was in the contest casually with my K2.
Was also going to buy an Orion but opted for the KPA100 instead. We did save
a few bucks didn't we!

Help:
I have a newly built XG1.
Wanted to try to calibrate the s-meter on my K2.
Problem is very weak output tone on 50 uv setting.
Not sufficient to light s-meter.
Can't hear tone at all on 1 uv setting.
All resistance checks are ok on XG1, all components look to be in correct
locations, soldering
Ordered various items from them.
The order was shipped promptly and was complete.

Hi Guys,
Have almost completed KX1 #770.
Everything is fine so far. My question is with the KXAT1 installed, how do I
get to trimmer 20A on the KX1 board?
In the KXB30 manual, page 7, last step it says to re-align rcvr on 20 mtrs.
Thanks,
