Greetings,
One more question on roofing filters, specifically about using identical BW
filters in adjacent slots. Lots of roofing filter blurbs on the reflector, but
I could not find anything specific to this question.
In reading the owners manual, it states that roofing filters are to be
Thanks to all who responded. The problem appears to be solved now.
I used the utility to check things out before making any changes, and all
was as it should be. However I reloaded the current release firmware, and
increased the insertion loss compensation on the 0.40 roofing filter from

Greetings,
I just came across what seems to be a rather peculiar operational quirk in my
K3/100 while reducing the BW on CW. I have 13, 2.8, 1.8 and 0.4 roofing,
running current firmware release suite.
On 20M CW for example, as I reduced the DSP BW down, and as I hit 0.20 the

Greetings,
I'm going to purchase a solder station, probably one of the popular Weller or
Hakko units, with additional tips. Both manufacturers sell accessories to
calibrate the stations. Some recommend performing a temp calibration whenever
you replace the tip or the iron. All well and
Greetings,
My K3/100 kit is finished and all went well. Thanks to all who responded to my
questions along the way. I thoroughly enjoyed putting this together. I was
surprised how user friendly the K3 Utility is, and how easy a firmware update
can be. I have just played around on the

I'm performing initial configuration/filter loss compensation. I have the
following filters (slot #) - BW:

(5) n/a
I noticed that in the Owner's Manual, for Configuration/Filter Loss
Compensation, it suggests using 1-2 dB
Greetings,
I am just starting the initial test and cals portion of assembly, prior KNB3
enable and KPA3 installation. Power-up went fine with no errors. Before I
start with Synthesizer Cal and move on, is now a good time to update the
firmware to latest release, then do all the cals? I'm

Ref: K3 Kit Assembly Manual, Rev. F, October 28, 2008.
I was just about to install the KSYN3 (ref manual, page 50) when I noticed that
one pin on P73 on the KSYN3 board is missing. Looking at the figure on page
50, it is the third pin from the right, top row. The pin comes off
I am finishing up my K3/100 kit (all 8 pole roofing filters, no sub rcvr), and
already looking over the fence.
Am I correct in my understanding that for diversity reception with the KRX3,
and using all 8 pole roofing filters (same 8 pole BW in same slots for main and
sub boards), that

Greetings,
K3/100 assembly in work. I just did the four resistance checks that verify the
power buses are not shorted to ground. All R measurements exceeded the
minimums specified. However, that kind of leaves a big range of what
constitutes nominal values. Can anybody provide what are
