Taking this data the K3 would be about 11th or 12th on the list

If the P3 is so great as is, I have an almost new one for sale on QRZ.
Without the NB for the SVGA board it not anywhere near good as other methods
of using a panadapter. So I went another direction.

My complaint is that I feel deceived about this product(P3SVGA add-on).
Looking at the description I am lead to believe that the P3SVGA add-on board
will allow me to view what I am seeing on the P3 on a large external screen.
That is the way I read the ad. But this is NOT the case. I feel
I am saying I see signals on the P3 with the NB on that I can not see on the
P3SVGA screen.

You are mixing 2 completely different items. The decoding of the digital
signals I could care less how that works. I don't use that function. I am
saying that on the P3 screen with the NB on I can see weaker signals than I
can see on the P3SVGA screen. The noise blanker does not work on

K3. It is more of a visual aid and does not need to worry about the audio.
My understanding of this NB is that if used on the audio all you would hear

Also when thinking about getting a P3 and SVGA card what you see on the P3 is
not what you see on the SVGA monitor if you turn on the NB. The weak
signals are covered up by the noise on the SVGA screen.
The NB works great but is not carried over to the SVGA screen.

If you understood that if you have 3.0 kHz of IF and clip off some of the
lows and some of the highs from the audio. It's not the same as only having

But it can't be set to transmit SSB at 2.3khz wide.

The TE Systems 1452G is a great amp but it takes a large power supply. If
you want to keep it simple and only need around 100 watts the Mirage B-310-G
is a good choice.

RX protection.
Elecraft should be able give us a figure on the RF protection that the K3
and KX3 have built in.

You are all sick if you think that 5 watts from a K3 is some how magically
greater
than 5 watts from some other brand like Yaesu 5000mp or Kenwood TS590. The

probably is the least likely variable as to whether you are heard or not.

I know very little about how all this works but my guess is that the problem
maybe in the timing of the KAT500 as to when it decides the K3 has QSY'd.
On SSB the frequency will vary quickly as you speak. If the KAT500 sees a
new frequency for too long of a time it may think the K3 has changed
Bill is correct. In it's current state the KAT500 has a major flaw. I wants
to retune at inopportune
times. Elecraft has responded to this problem but has not released new
firmware to correct the problem.
I'm not saying you shouldn't order one now but be aware the problem is real.
