Mike, All,
I am with Fred on this call - particularly from a hi-rise hotel balcony at a
resort. My best results have been with an Alex Walkham Magloop (has a nice
small carry on bag that also fits in my suitcase) closely followed by the
Superantenna MP-1 which fits in an old Targus laptop bag.
Sometimes I don't read the fine print... Sorry Bill, was to go to the list.

Have the kit with the mini tripod and used it for quite a while. It has worked
reasonably well with the KX3 and FT-817 in its best locations (put the tripod
on top of the car or clamped to a metal railing). The radial system is meh but
works well enough. I get better "milage" with a home made po
I have experienced similar issues only after a complete power down (KX3, PX3,
KXPA100, computer, AND power supply). Both the PX3 and the KXPA100 act like
they have a mind of their own. The system slowly rights itself... first KXPA100
comes on and cycles with the KX3, then the PX3 just starts wor
Hi Ted,
I remember that he experimented with a remote that was basically a stepper
motor that had a reduction gearing and range control switching to prevent
running past the stops. IIRC don't think he was entirely happy with the results
but it worked. He doesn't mention it as a product.

Gotta agree with Frank on the AlexLoop... When it is adjusted and you stay put
on a frequency for a while. I disable the internal tuner when I use the loop.
I find that the tuner is useful with my other portable field antennas, the
SuperAntennas MP-1 and a random hank of wire. I find the MP-1 t

But.. It is not WWV that the "atomic" clocks and watches sync to, it is WWVB:

Somewhat different specs and certainly different than the voice and tone WWVB
broadcasts.
