I ordered a K3DSPUPGD on 1/1/10 and still haven't received anything. Do not
believe the quoted 4-5 week lead time estimate on the website. A very
unsatisfactory situation!

The upgrade program delays seem to stem from delays in the exchange
board return from customers. Probably from not being able to install
the new board immediately.
Those who have sent their own board to Elecraft in advance for a
direct exchange have received swift service. Apparently modified

Sending it in is no option for me. It would take about 4-5 weeks only for the
shipping from Europe to US and back. I don't have a backup radio, so this
could cause serious withdrawal symptoms ;)
So I will continue waiting patiently.

Elecraft will allow for long shipping delays from EUrope to US and at a slow
transit speed.

Since I'm having the P3 shipped, I might as well have some other outstanding
mods shipped too.
I've read the instructions for K3DSPLPF and don't think I'd have any trouble
making that mod.
I'd like some advice from those that have done or considered it, is it worth
getting the K3DSPUPGD

what is that mod?
You have an Elecraft mod but don't know what it is for? I have a little
2-tone generator unbuilt mini-kit. I would build it if I could find it.

Continuing on this thread, I understand to make the K3DSPUPGD mod oneself is
very hard. I can make the K3DSPLPF mod with no problem. Do people think the
K3DSPUPGD would be of benefit to my failing 56 year old ears?
Just how much does better response below 300 Hz help?

I can't seem to locate any info on the installation of the Revision D
K3DSPUPGD DSP board on the Elecraft web site. Is it not available until you
actually order and receive the upgrade board? If it IS available as a
download, I'd like to review it before ordering. Can anyone please help
point
Terry, the upgrade board did not come with any special instructions. I
installed mine by following the guidelines in the K3 Kit Assembly Manual. It
was a very easy mod. Of course, the same electrostatic discharge prevention
cautions apply (I.e. you need an ESD mat and wrist strap.)
Good luck
Thanks Fred.

I find no actual description of what the K3DSPUPGD (REV C) consists
of. Does it include the lowpass audio filter that everyone keeps talking
about, or is that an additional add on to the REV C DSP board?
Could someone from Elecraft please straighten me out on this so I

Stan,
If I understand correctly, the new DSP boards will be Rev D and will
include the LPF as well as the increased low frequency audio response.
I am not certain where I received that information, so I could be
suffering from a 'memory loss incident'. But whatever the board Rev
number is, it
This question has been asked several times recently, without direct
response from Elecraft. However, W4TV apparently made contact and
posted an answer the other day:
