Is there a Memory/Menu Management Program available for the K3 ?
Something like the one that HB9ZS makes for the Yaesu Radios.
Thanks, Dick, W1KSZ

Unfortunately, it is Windows only requiring .NET be available. As
Elecraft has not made the memory commands/protocol public, no other
option seems to be available. So
Would be nice if ALL Elecraft programs were also available in Linux...

This is in fact a deficiency in Debian. Most of the required libs can be
installed in a multi-arch configuration where the 32-bit libraries go into a
separate directory from the 64-bit libraries. However the gtkhtml package
among others does not yet conform to this standard. The 32-bit
Just for the record... It would have been a show stopper for me if the
K3 software was only Windows... Now that I have had a chance to play
with the rig a bit more, I still might have bought it, but I really do
thank Elecraft for supporting Debian and the other forms of Linux.

Hi Jim,
it is just surprising to find a company that is actually responsible,
has good support folks, sells a really good product, AND supports
Linux! :)

I know there is the K3 Memory Editor for Windows with .NET, but I am
curious about the commands used to read and write the memories to the
K3. The Programmer's Guide is mum on this only offering the MC command
to read which memory is in use or set a specific memory channel. What I

Nate,
Are you looking at the K3 Programmer's Reference Rev C13?
That version shows the MCnnn command to be either a GET or a SET. I
have not tried it, but it does not seem to be limited to reading only
the memory in use. The 'nnn' value gets more complicated if you are
trying to retrieve
I am brand new K3 owner, unless I have missed something in all my research,

Hi Greg,
We'll be adding this function to our K3 Utility program at some
point. We'd be happy to get your input on it.

Suggest you look at the Kenwood control program RCP-570 for the TS-480. In
addition to memory management, it makes it very easy to control the radio in
addition to filter management and IF shift, DSP control, etc.
