I have been using APPs for ten years when I built my first K2. I have used APP
connectors on two K2s and two K3s. All cables to APP connectors have been
soldered in. I have never had a problem. If the cables are soldered correctly

Farnel/CPC for sure, not sure where in Portugal, but to be honest, I've found
buying from the US (QuickSilver http://www.qsradio.com/ to be good value and
sometimes cheaper than buying from within the EU).

No. You've got to replace the pole. I've successfully done it with much
larger power poles that still had a wire attached, but with the wire broken

They are simple to remove, there is a special tool, but a very small
screwdriver will work.
Put it in the 'front' end, just under the contact and press the leaf spring
that holds the contact in down.
Normally you'd just pull on the wire, but you'll have to use a pair of fine
tweezers to pull th

Use a small flat-blade screwdriver. Lift the front edge of the connector, which
hooks over the front lip of the metal piece that's built into the plastic
connector. It's designed to work this way. You shouldn't break it.

do I need a new pole.
I tried to get it out, but I´m a bit concerned to break it.

Hi Don,
That concern was addressed in the article: "It also has, in addition to a

Gentlemen,
I would be very cautious of a crimp made with a tool that looks like
that Harbor Freight model.
It appears to produce a 'point contact' type crimp rather than a crimp
over a large surface. Crimps of that nature can lead to high resistance

Well worth reading for a better understanding of the "How to" of APPs.
Too, a cheap but effective looking tool from Harbor Freight is noted.
