The knobs on my K1 have a bit of a loose feel to me. Also, when I press
the display button (upper left) the display itself shifts just a bit.
Should I disassemble and check the various fasteners to be sure they're
tight or is this just the way the rig is? No I did not build it.

I found my front-panel moved a bit when I pushed the display button
as well. I ended up securing it by adding a little square of sort of
rubber material, to the edge of the 8-way connectors that join the
top of the front panel assembly to the top of the K1. The material I

The early K1 units were provided with potentiometers that had a tremendous
amount of shaft wobble. Elecraft later went to a pot design that had a much
greater amount of shaft support. I had to replace my AF gain pot when it
There was a thread on this relating to the main tuning
knob a while back. The suggestion was to cut a felt
washer and put this behind the main knob. Smaller
than
the main tuning knob of course. I did this and it
works fine.
