Bob, Yes, the best and easiest way to determine what is wrong is to do Receiver Signal Tracing. That should allow you to isolate the problem to a single stage and armed with that information, we can likely help better. You do not need a 10 MHz crystal. Any crystal frequency within the tunin

Greetings, I just finished building my K2 and seems to work pretty well except that it does not received like I think it should. I put it side by side with my K1 and the K1 picked up signals better. They were louder and clearer on the K1 than the K2. I have made about 3 passes through the alignm

I believe it is the TX side. Here's why: The SoftRock series of SDR kits are fun for looking at this. The receiver is extremely wide, on the order of 50KHz to 100KHz, depending on your version and sound card quality, so there really isn't anything analogous to the filtering artifacts you mig
